Earlier this week, I saw an obit in the NYT that mentioned a woman's lifelong heavy smoking in the first sentence. Because of it her life was cut short by emphysema at the tender age of 84. Earlier this week I saw a story about a man that had throat cancer. He wanted to tell how his lifelong smoking habit was to blame but he could no longer talk.

Sure there are people who are hurt by smoking. There are also people killed driving cars. What's your point? Should we all hide from everything all the time because something might happen?

At least we don't have to listen to him whine anymore.
