I work for a large corporation in a 'campus' setting. There are covered walkways between buildings. Do you think the smokers could stand at the edges of these covered walkways when it is raining? Oh, noooooo. They have to stand on their little cement pad which is situated in such a way as to be most exposed to the wind and rain. Of course they do this to try to 'encourage' people not to smoke. When it's really bad, we go over to the parking garage to smoke. Takes a minute or two longer in travel time, but hey, that's their fault for not providing us a sheltered area.
We used to have smoking lounges at work. That wasn't good enough. Now they don't even want us CLOSE to work!
