It's not cynicism at all, it's reality. They will fail to do what's right because they protect each other. Mud, don't you know there is no difference between the parties?

The dems admit they want big government while their clones give us the same on a "piece meal" basis, but, the result is the same.

Why did the republicrats win in November? In my opinion, a big reason was the televised "memorial" for wellstone disgusted a lot of dems who sat on their hands because they were as offended as we were. In addition, "war" is a great diversion and all you have to do is keep the people on edge with daily warnings of impending attacks, which, by the way, I've stopped paying attention to because I refuse to live in fear and I prefer freedom rather than a so-called "security" from people I no longer trust. People are reluctant to change when a "war" is iminent.
Come to think of it, you may be right about cynicism, but, it is tempered with realism.

Bottom line, I hope I'm wrong, but I still see kennedy in the senate, I saw the whitewash of torricelli from his dorm buddies, barney frank had a male whore house in a two bedroom apt and got away with saying he didn't know his butt partner was doing it, I rememember members of both houses kiteing checks and they got away with it! Reality, my FRiend. I remember a republican congress giving themselves a $4,900 increase at the "midnight" hour one year ago while giving social security recipients a $35,00 increase and just recently, the senate gave themselves an increase and I don't remember any repubs voting against it. Again, that was done at the "midnight hour". It's all about power over our lives and enriching themselves from the public trough. I see the President wining and dining a group at the White House who refuse to condemn the murder of civilians, but, he doesn't hesitate to condemn trent lott for his stupid remarks, so, I guess it's much worse making a stupid racist statement than it is murdering people. What a guy!
