Serb church blown up in Kosovo, second damaged -UN
PRISTINA, Yugoslavia, Nov 17 (Reuters) - A Serb Orthodox church in western Kosovo was blown up on Sunday morning and another was damaged overnight, a spokesman for the United Nations mission in charge of the Yugoslav province said.
The explosions took place one day before U.N. Secretary- General Kofi Annan was scheduled to visit the province, where majority Albanians and minority Serbs remain bitterly divided more than three years after the end of the Kosovo war.
"At 0600 (0500 GMT) on Sunday, the Orthodox church Saint Vasil of Ostrog, in the village of Ljubovo west of Istok, was totally destroyed," U.N. spokesman Andrea Angeli told Reuters.
Serb Orthodox Bishop Artemije said the bombings were the latest in a campaign that has damaged or destroyed 110 Serb religious sites since the United Nations arrived.
"All the criminals who tore down so many churches and committed so many other crimes are moving freely around Kosovo," said Artemije, the top Orthodox churchman in the province.
Angeli said three explosions rocked another church at about midnight in another village near Istok, northwestern Kosovo, blowing out the doors and windows.
No one was injured and the NATO-led peacekeeping force and U.N. police were conducting an investigation, Angeli said.
The U.N. took over Kosovo in June 1999 following NATO bombing to halt Serb repression of the ethnic Albanian majority. Some 180,000 Serbs fled amid Albanian revenge attacks targeting their homes and other symbols of the Serb presence in Kosovo.
Bishop Artemije said U.N. police and NATO peacekeepers bore some blame for the church violence because they had recently removed checkpoints from religious sites, saying the security situation had improved, and had failed to catch perpetrators of previous attacks.
"The latest attacks against the churches shows how little they know the enemy," the bishop told the Beta news agency.
The enemy: Muslim Albanians of the KLA allied with al-Qaeda wages its on going jihad. NATO does nothing but make it easier for KLA.

What is the purpose of the UN?
Way past due. Mega BUMP for Justice!
But the POTUS who sent us in to defend the Albanian Muslims in Kosovo from the Serbian Orthodox Christian genocide artists remembered the Klan burning Black Churchs in Arkansas when he was a lad, and felt their pain and everything, so he must have known what he was doing.
Is Bill Clinton Commander-In-Chief again?.
'Course the Left is already coming after their churches.
I think GW Bush had an awakening from this. It was a mistake and he took actions to correct it that Bill Clinton never would have down. We would have never gone into Kosovo, let alone Bosnia if GW Bush was in charge at that time. Check up on the following:
THE BLACK LIST |

(July 1, 2001) Last Wednesday, the President of the U.S.A. George W. Bush issued an executive order condemning the actions of the Albanian terrorists, restricting access to funding to the terrorist groups (including the NLA) and forbidding entry to the U.S. to some known terrorists (including most of the leaders of the NLA and KLA). Curiously enough, CNN published just a short story about this important development. This article is not linked from the main page, or the "In-Depth" page on Macedonia, and is only accessible through keyword search. Even more interesting is part of the article that states (emphasis added): "The White House did not release a list of those covered under the president's executive order and travel restrictions." We wander how other news agencies got this "unreleased" list. As a public service, and a favor to our colleagues in the international media, we publish it, alongside with some related links.
