Both fail to understand that the benefits they seek to appropriate grew out of the Christian culture underlying them

Ah yes. I forget. Which religion was it that imprisoned Galilleo for life. Executed and tortured other scientist 'heretics'... Inquisition ring a bell?

Western philosophy, rule of law, and the renaissance are why we have superior technology. NOT religion.

"Western philosophy, rule of law, and the renaissance are why we have superior technology. NOT religion."

And just what helped to shape and form Western philosophy? Might it have been the Christian influence? Be honest and answer the question truthfully. While you're thinking about it, also remember that the majority of Renaissance scientists and philosophers held to the Christian faith. One that quickly comes to mind is Sir Isaac Newton. Perhaps you've heard of him?

It's obvious that you're enamored with the fruits of man's technological prowess. Need I remind you that it (technology) can all disappear in the twinkling of an eye.

Shame on you! You know better than that. Do a little research.
