"She feels as though the system offered no real protection for her, a law-abiding citizen."

She has the audacity to call herself a "law abiding citizen?????"

BTW, one of the interesting ironies about this sort of thing is that while it's a felony for an illegal alien or felon to attempt to purchase a firearm, courts have gutted such statutes by stating that since such a person who fills out a 4473 would be incriminating himself, there can be no penalty for a criminal who fails to indicate his status on said form.

I would propose, therefore, passing a law that says that a 4473 on which someone has indicated that he is a felon or illegal alien shall not be construed as evidence of a crime. Of course, since a "yes" in either of those questions would cause a dealer to refuse the sale, only a moron would answer yes when trying to get a gun anyway. Such a change to the law, however, would remove criminals' "self-incrimination" loophole.
