Well, it is more that reading the accounts depressed me. It is kind of like the joke about the two Jews riding a train in communist Russia. One was reading a government publication full of lies, and the other was reading a local Jewish paper about the latest atrocities visited on the Jews by the communists. Finally, the Jew who was reading the truthful account could not stand it anymore and spoke to his fellow Jew on the train-
"Tell me reb Yid, why are you reading that horrible paper of communist lies! It says that Jews have all the power, money, and are persecuting the gentiles."
The other Jew put down his paper and said thoughtfully:
"I used to read the paper you do and it depressed me. It had nothing but bad news, the lastest arrest, pogrom, or persecution. Now I read this paper. It says that Jews have all the power and money! I would rather read the good news!"
You see, I like the good news too.
