The same thing happened when GWB appeared in Charleston, WV, during the 2000 campaign. It had been drizzly all morning, but when he arrived and started to speak, the sun came out and a rainbow appeared. If I hadn't been there and seen it myself, I would have pooh-poohed such a story.

Famous Romanian sportsmen and sportswomen were there along with politicians and Church heads. There were speeches about the rain, democracy, terrorism, aliances, friendship between peoples.

Saturday, November 23, 2.40 PM. US officials are on their way to the Cotroceni Palace. Meanwhile, thousands of people are shivering in the Revolution Square, rain pouring over them. Drinks and fast meals are available at very high prices. Many of the people there were forced to come to attend the event.

Saturday, November 23, 2.00 PM. Air Force One lands on the Otopeni international airport, Bucharest. Bush and his wife Laura get off the plane five minutes later and leave for the Cotroceni Palace immediately.

Romanian authorities brought over two million people in the Revolution Square, downtown Bucharest, where Bush is scheduled to talk to the Romanian people. It is raining in Bucharest. Romanian bands entertain people gathered in the Revolution Square waiting for the US President.
