I don't know of anyone who says "I'm going to a rock concert" when they have Britney tickets.

Okay. Well what Joan is saying is not that she objects to Britney/Shakira/Christina/Pink, but that they do NOT represent rock in any way shape or form.

At least that's how I read it.
