CIA accuses Saudi millionaires of Al-Qaeda Connections

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is distributing a list to international banking institutions of 12 leading Saudi businessmen who are allegedly channeling large sums of money to the Al-Qaeda Network.

The Agency is now in the process of tracking down the Saudi funds, which are believed to have been transferred to accounts in Europe, Africa and Asia, reported ABC News. Mentioned on the list is Yassin Al-Kadi, a multi-millionaire involved in banking, diamonds and real estate.

American officials informed the CIA that the names of the 12 suspects were released to the Saudi government nine months ago. It is believed that Al-Kadi and the other businessmen have commercial and personal ties to the Saudi royal family. However, spokesperson for the Saudi government Adel Al-Jubeir argues that the US Congress has not provided substantial enough evidence to make such allegations.

Saudi Arabia has been accused for years of funneling portions of its extensive oil wealth to Islamic terrorist groups. Saudi ambassador to the US, Prince Bandar Bin Sultan and his wife were recently charged with channeling funds to two of the September 11 hijackers.

Saudi sources acknowledged that the couple provided approximately $130,000 in what they labeled charitable donations over a four-year period to the terrorists. At least one of the Saudi checks was signed over to the wife of Omar Al-Bayoumi, a Saudi man living in California who is suspected of helping two men who later participated in the September 11 attacks in New York and Washington. — (menareport.com)

It seems there are several agendas at work at the CIA and the FBI. Prince Bandar is a friend of Jeb and George W. and has a trail that leads back through BCCI.

It seems Bush should have demanded some resignations post 9/11 when he had the chance.

Shortly after 9/11, it was discovered that certain people had purchased unusually large numbers of "put options" (essentially bets that the stock will go down) in certain airlines, Boeing, insurance companies, and other industries that would be hit by 9/11, with these purchases occurring a few days before 9/11

There was a lot of talk about this for a few days, but then the story "went down the memory hole". It is my opinion that the activity was traced to people who could not be touched -- ie that members of the Saudi royal family had advance knowledge of what was about to happen and decided to cash in

This is the first step towards cleaning up the mess in Saudi Arabia. The timing is also very interesting.

You can bet that Saudi Arabia will not comply.

This is very, very big news.

There is without any doubt vast amounts of money from Saudi that has and probably still does go to Al Queda. However, I do believe the story of Prince Bandars wife. If they wanted to fund Al Queda the money would have went through several layers of Middle East Banks (Dubai is a great place to do this) and laundered so it could never be traced back to her. Al Queda has used "charity work" in the past
to solicit funds from the unsuspecting.

In addition Osma Bin Ladin's hate for the United States is only surpassed by his hate for the Saudi Royal Family. Do you think Prince Bandars wife will fund those that will kill her, her husband and family if they attain power?

This information has been known for months by the CIA, FBI and all probability the Senate and House Intelligence Committies. Do I see Sentor Patrick Leahy aka Leaky Leahy at work here? The timing of this is very significent and the target of this is not the Saudies but the Bush Administration.

This story is not true.

GWB said "the Saudis are our friends".

Well, let's see: the CIA released the names of 12 Saudi businessmen, believed to have ties to the Saudi government (royal family) and believed to be laundering money for terrorist groups, TO the Saudi government (royal family) 9 months ago.

How much of a stretch is it to believe the Saudi government (royal family) is sheltering these individuals? Sheesh.

Stupid statement of the year award.

I have not forgotten this story either and will not be surprised to find Saudi hands in it.

I imagine we have been able to track at least a few of these ghoulish profiteers by now. It's possible that the Saudis can't be touched - at least not yet. They do control a substantial portion of the oil reserve and there are are other nations which rely on that reserve even more than we do.

It's possible that the plans to install a Democratic form of government next door is the beginning of our long term plan against the 2-faced Saudis. They have surely been freaking out ever since they found out we were really going to force change in Iraq and this is their worse nightmare.

I think our public policy toward the Saudi government and our plans for them are two entirely different animals. Bush is playing the same game with them that they are playing with us and it's driving them crazy. This plan will require patience, but Bush has said he is a patient man.

"As for supposed disinterest of the Saudi royal family in helping Al Qaeda, the Saudis are practitioners of the duplicitous double game, and would not hesitate to make an alliance with Al Qaeda against the US if they thought it would keep them in power."

Yep. Wahhabists of a feather.
