[Real Cynic No More]

In all the real explanations, what is often left out is that there are primarily two means of lurking at Free Republic. One is by means of "Threads", the other by "Messages". Which of these you use for lurking can be controlled by clicking on either of the links at the top of the page on the right.

Threads are organized by the article posted, with the article and all responses brought to light when you click on the link embedded in the title of the article.

Messages are organized by having the latest response posted to any article showing on the top of the site, followed by the previous response to other posts, etc., all in reverse order of when their responses were made. Clicking on the link embedded in the article title will bring up the article with all of its responses.

"BTTT" (Bump To The Top) and "Bump" are responses to posts which place the response at the top of the Message window, regardless of the topic. Bumping an article provides a response that is added to the top of the Message list.

I hope this provides some further clarification to you.

Rules for Posting:
1. Verbs has to agree with their subjects.
2. Prepositions are not words to end sentences with.
3. And don't start a sentence with a conjunction.
4. It is wrong to ever split an infinitive.
5. Avoid clichés like the plague. (They are old hat.)
6. Be more or less specific.
8. Parenthetical remarks (however relevant) are (usually) unnecessary.
9. Also, too, never, ever use repetitive redundancies.
10. No sentence fragments.
11. Don't use no double negatives.
12. Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.
