"And pretty soon, they'll start baiting the mainstream media for allegedly ignoring the story they've pushed into the zeitgeist."

Uggh!

Al's literati pals are trying to make him sound intelligent again.

John--the most pathetic thing I read this week was Tipper, telling NBC:

"We won the election, but the Supreme Court wouldn't let us serve."

These people are beyond ridiculous, they are scary. To think they were in power for 8 years is mind-boggling. I also guess Tipsy think living in a mansion, having servants, cooks, gardeners, and chauffeurs on the taxpayer dime as "serving others."

Oh well, God has delivered us from these vermin.

Happy Thanksgiving John--to you and your family!

Gore is a delusional nutbag, a scheming liar or a combination of both. The goof has had more media exposure than the WTC on 911 in the past two weeks.

We're all brain-washed Bushbots. Now that explains why Algore's books haven't been red-hot bestsellers.

the mainstream press has no mechanism to bring back Americans brainwashed by conservative outlets.

See, look at that. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Gore is right: the mainstream press has no mechanism to "bring back" the people who aren't watching or reading them anymore.

Al thinks the conservative outlets must be brainwashing people. If there was any brainwashing going on, none of this would have happened. What Gore calls the "mainstream press" has been cheerleading for the Democratic Party for as long as I have been alive. It has been so blatant in recent years that I frequently have to laugh out loud when I read it. If it was possible to brainwash people with media, the Democrats would have 100% of the House and the Senate, plus the White House. And Fox News in its current format would never have gotten off the ground. Rush Limbaugh would have fallen flat on his face.

In fact it is not possible to brainwash people with media, with the consequence that after decades of would-be brainwashing by a media totally dominated by liberals, all conservatives had to do was show up. The audience was there for it. It had always been there. As soon as there was an alternative to all-liberal, all-the-time media, the so-called "mainstream" media outlets found themselves losing share at an unbelievable rate. CNN, with a 20-year head start and many more cable operators signed on, has already lost the ratings war to Fox. And Fox is still coming, adding more cable operators every month because carrying Fox is good business. A huge audience -- bigger than CNN's -- wants it.

This is what Al Gore is crabbing about. He's angry and upset that private citizens, operating their very own remote controls in the privacy of their homes, are not choosing liberal media outlets anymore. He apparently thinks that something ought to be done about that. He can pound sand.

He's right about another thing, too. Now that liberals can no longer control the "zeitgeist" with a 100% monopoly on what people can see and read, liberals are going to have a Hell of a time winning elections. The "media" is no longer going to decide which issues are important, and so tilt the playing field toward the Democrats in every election. That game is over. Democrats will still have the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, and all the broadcast networks with which to trumpet their issues. But whether Democrats like it or not, the Republicans will get their issues on the table. They will have their speeches covered. The public isn't going to hear only the Democrats' side of things.

We will never see another campaign like the one in 1992, where every day's television news featured a tape of an animated, jocular Bill Clinton speaking to a cheering crowd, followed by a still photo of George Bush in the background while the news anchor summarized what he did that day. That kind of news management on behalf of the Democrats is a thing of the past... and good riddance.

Al Gore doesn't like it? I'm not surprised. But I don't care, either. To Hell with Al Gore. For the first time since the advent of mass media, there are conservative outlets to counter the liberal ones. We will have debates in this country, instead of one-sided management of the news on behalf of the Democratic Party. That can only be good for America. It's probably not good for Democrats.

Gobble-gobble. A mind is a terrrible thing to waste, if you have one. I love the pic Fox News used of Gore last night on "Special Edition." Gore looks like an evil, mad professor. It's a very good likeness.

Happy Thanksgiving JohnHuang2!!

You'd think that if the mainstream was really dominated by the right, someone, anyone, just once would ask Hillary! a "real" question.

Just a thought. All the news anchors at the big three broadcasters are nearing the end of their careers - could the Democrats be mounting a campaign to ensure that their replacements are of the liberal persuasion?

Yep, almost as scary as a Gore presidency. Everyday, not just on Thanksgiving, Al assiduously reminds us why we should all be thankful he's harmlessly back in Tennessee and Bush is in the White House, where voters put him.

LOL !! Regarding FOX News: You nailed it, JH2 !! Thanks.

..And the media keeps serving him up to us, whether we want to see him, or not, over and over.

Gore needs to be trivialized. I used to consider him a lunatic.

I apologise to all lunatics.

He is just a roaring (Unglamorous part of the anatomy.)

Al doesn't like it being out of political office.

Al doesn't like it that their book is not fit for country toilet paper.

Al doesn't like it that the DNC shuns him.

Al doesn't like it that he's not raising much cash.

Al doesn't like talk-radio.

Al doesn't lke you driving an SUV... but he drives one.

Al Gore doesn't like too much these days. By 2004, he'll be ready for a straight-jacket.

Nick,

Excellent post #7!

It should be cut and pasted to the front page of The Washington Post and The New York Times, followed by free refills of Motrine and Xanax for liberals.

Happy Thanksgiving.
