PRESIDENT BUSH SURPRISES PRO-LIFE LEADERS BY SELECTING KISSINGER FOR 9-11 POST

Kissinger Strongly Implicated in Population Control and Abortion

WASHINGTON, November 29, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) - U.S. President George W. Bush announced Wednesday that he had selected former secretary of state Henry Kissinger as chairman of a new independent commission to investigate the September 11 attacks. Pro-life leaders were surprised by the selection given the President's aversion to coercive abortion and Kissinger's close association with it.

President Bush was praised by the pro-life community internationally for his defunding of the United Nations Population Fund due to their association with the forced abortion and coercive sterilization practices in China. However, Kissinger was intimately associated with coercive population control as he is the author of the now-declassified national security study memorandum calling for population control - coercive if necessary, in the third world.

Gilles Grondin, a veteran United Nations diplomat and past President of Le Mouvement en faveur de la Vie/Campaign Quebec Vie, (the pro-life movement in Quebec), told LifeSite that he was surprised by President Bush's selection of Kissinger. Grondin, who with his vast UN experience has been one of the most successful pro-life lobbyists at the UN, points out that Kissinger's memo NSSM 200 formed the basis of U.S. foreign policy in the area of population.

Grondin explained that the Memorandum suggested that competition from new world powers would rise when developing nations had sufficient populations to utilize their national resources to their full potential. Thus, NSSM 200 was about ensuring U.S. strategic, economic, and military interest, at the expense of developing countries, by proposing population control including by coercive means if mere propaganda could not succeed.

For more on NSSM 200 including the actual document see LifeSite at:

But of course!

The Admin Moderators already know who I am, no need to ping them. They know who the loyal contributors to Free Republic are, and they know I've never been banned from this website, and that as one of the leaders of our Catholic Caucus here, I encourage other Catholics to give generously to Free Republic.

You read incorrectly. I asked the respondent to not go off on a tangent and waste time converting me, since we already shared the ssame basic believe on the one point. I did not say, don't respond to the main issue. Read again.

It should just kill you that this thread
A) still exists
B) has almost 400 posts and
C) on it you have demonstrated that you are a nut case

That it might not shows how far out of touch you are with rationality.

Hey, just for fun, why don't you change your name to "Proud2knowMary" and I'll change mine to "Proud2knowJesus". We're sort of related, but not really.

Actually this is quite an entertaining thread, for those not reading any of your responses. I'm hungry. Anybody know of a good pro-life restaurant? What suitably pro-life route should I take to get there, in my pro-life automobile?

No, actually, I think it is pretty damn amusing. Here it is, the website where right wing viewpoints are most likely to be espoused, and you only have a few defenders.

I'll be sending this to the RNC and various state party headquarters, so they all understand how you rigid pro-lifers operate, and how much you are actually respected, even in your own ideological sphere.

We pro-lifers have some very important battles coming up. This appointment is not one of them, and to raise a stink over it on the basis of Dr. K's stand on abortion plays into the hands of the enemy-it makes us look like a bunch of nutballs.

One of the reasons the liberals are loosing public support is because they go ballistic over EVERYTHING. We would be fools to emulate their behavior.

We need to maintain our credibility for the upcoming debate over partial-birth abortion. The pro-abortion position is quite obviously the radical one, but most Americans are ignorant of that fact because the left has been so successful in framing the issue and painting us as kooks. Let's not spill any of that paint on ourselves. We can succeed in the arena of ideas, but not if we fail in the forum of public perception.

This seems silly to me. What earthly connection does a 9/11 investigation have with abortion? I am very strongly in favor of appointing pro-lifers to sensitive positions, or electing them to sensitive offices, but this complaint strikes me as completely silly.

Exactly. Of the 101 reasons why Kissinger is wrong for the job, this is 102.

"But what do his views on population control have to do with investigating the September 11, 2001 attacks?"

Nothing! But I think the issue the author was trying to bring up is one of character. Bush has chosen a modern despot to head this commission. And Kissingers open record of promoting abortion and eugenics is an indication of this mans despotic nature. Just because he is ours...and Bush likes him, doesn't mean it will set well with American voters who are bright enough to understand the character...and record..of Kissinger.

Don't you just love the ones that like to play games and pull a Clinton? Yep I wonder if he talks to his three childern the way he talks to others on this forum? How about his wife, patients, nurses, friends, co-workers? I know he is a laugh a minute.....

though I had to chance my screen name because I had been naive enough to use my real name, which proved to be a stupid move.
Never banned but failed and deliberately deflected the question and a straight answer ....

Thanks for taking the point position of the pro-life crowd.

Sorry. I'm pro-life as are many on this thread, but obviously not pro-life enough for you. This attitude will unfortunately do nothing to stop abortion in this country; in fact, it hurts the cause. The PP and NARAL people know fanatics only help their cause, making them look like the "victims" instead of the babies and mothers.

If you do not yet comprehend that our Demographic warfare against the Third World plays an integral part if the hatred of Islam against us, your are a blind fool.

Wow! You finally thought up a connection! Good for you. Now, can you point out where in just one of Osama's laundry-list screeds against the US does he mention "demographic warfare"? Thanks in advance!

What you see here is the fact that they believe their agenda should be promoted into every aspect of government--which is pretty scary if you have different religious beliefs.

Getting prolifers into every aspect of government is a good thing. But where do you stop?

Do we deny people promotions in the police departments for being pro-abortion, because one day one of them might be the police cheif, who might one day might run for mayor, who might one day become a congressman, who might one day be president?

And if you spend all of your political capital fighting for these less meaningful positions, you have nothing left for the big fights.

Actually my reference was to the fact that Kimmel had sent Fletcher and a relief force to Wake.

Fletcher, aware of the state of flux in command proceeded slowly until kimmel was relieved by vice Admiral Pye who was himself just a stand in until Nimitz could arrive from Washington.

Agreed.

The Japanese beat Fletcher to it and took Wake, something that perhaps need not have happened.

Was a very risky opertion, could have gone good or bad.

Historians don't refer to it much, but they should.

Well gee, maybe it could be an indication of his overall character. This guy is a team player all the way. Now let me ask you one thing. Do you really think Henry loves the U. S. and cares what happens to it's people?

It appears that the world is divided into three parts, Omnis orbis est divisa in partes tres:
Not, the good, the bad, and the ugly, but rather

Left Wing, Right Wing, and just plain nuts

What prolife "agenda" are you hoping will be "promoted" in a 9/11 investigation?
