Pay attention. The battles are still raging and the fighting is still on going. Do not give up for a minute.

The article is horse hockey. So anti-second amendment demorats (same thing) won some seats around the country. Just ask algore why he blurted out his SUPPORT of gun rights at the start of his televised debate with GWB in 2000.

I have doubts that the gun control issue was a major reason for Rendell's win in PA. Rendell was a very popular candidate, well-known (esp. in Philly), concentrated on the city voters, is attractive, energetic and personable and ran an excellent campaign -- Fisher was non-descript, dull and/or whiny, ran a poor campaign and his personality came across badly, esp. on TV.

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend tried to use the gun control issue and the sniper shootings against Bob Ehrlich and it flopped big time. While we probably shouldn't expect a rollback in Maryland's gun control laws, we shouldn't expect even stiffer laws now that there's a GOP governor. The gun banners do tend to overrate their own clout.

In Illinois, Rod Blagojevich openly supported and campaigned for strong, sensible gun laws and won the Governorship even though the gun lobby waged an all out effort to defeat him. Illinois is not a good example. (Gov) George Ryan so poisoned the political climate that a bottle of Chlorox could have beaten Jim Ryan.

In Minnesota, the only Gov. candidate who campaigned at all on the gun issue was the gun grabbing Democrat, Roger Moe.
He lost.

Total B$ ... let's see ... gutting the 2nd is a function of the Demoncrats ... who's in power in the House, Senate and the Presidency again ?
I rest my case, but conservatives now need to hold the pubbies feet to the fire on this issue. ROLL BACK GUN LAWS.

Should someone send Sarah Brady a giant postcard that says:
"Dear Sarah Brady:
When will you stop lying?"

"Doyle... pledged to veto the NRA's top priority - forcing police to let almost anyone carry hidden handguns in public."Itch! Forcing police; what a laugh. Police don't make laws, but these commies would like more people to think they do. They'd also love for people to believe what the chiefs think, which is mostly authoritarian rubbish!

A few more 'wins' like this past month's elections and The Brady Bunch will be a name known only to archaeologists and linguists...

Dear Sarah,
You are correct! The gun control establishment rules. That is why we have a Democrat President, a Democrat House, and a Democrat Senate. Every one is anti-gun.
I hope the little fund raising letter you just crafted showing just how powerful and effective you have been brings you lots of moolah, at least as much as the Gores are netting from their wonderful books.
Regards,
NRA Member
P.S.
By the way, are you still parading poor disabled Jim out on stage as your prop?
To: vannrox
Mr. Rendell, who repeatedly called for common-sense gun measures such as one-handgun- per-month limits on gun trafficking and standards for trigger locks, won despite the NRA's well-funded attempts to defeat him through an attack-advertising blitz and a significant "get-out-the-vote" campaign. It's okay Mr. Salesperson, that one-handgun-per month is a limit ON gun trafficking. I'm just an honest citizen looking to buy a couple guns to protect me and my family. I haven't even left the state in three years.
What do you mean no?
To: Mind-numbed Robot
Stay strong sarah. Don't listen to anybody. Those other rats, you know, the ones that think that attacking the 2nd amendment is political death, they're just stupid. The way to win back the white house and congress is to oppose the second amendment - also throw in some partial birth abortion support while you're at it. GORE IN 04!!

A map of Rendels win in Pa looks like the Red/Blue map of the US from the 2000 election. Rendel won in the Unionized City areas and lost every where else.

Articles like this should be encouraged. So long as the Democrats believe that they can win by promising to do away with guns, they will continue to marginalize themselves. The more the electorate believes that the democrats will disarm them the better chance the democrats have of losing.
Remember, the electorate is that fragment of the population that actually votes. The group that has enough time to talk to the polsters is not the same thing as the electorate.

In Arizona, a state that is traditionally dominated by the NRA, Raul Grijalva ran a campaign touting his support for sensible gun laws and won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Gun laws had nothing to do with "Comrade Grijalva" winning, he ran in a new district, drawn up so that no one but a liberal democrat could win.
