Very interesting link, but not the story I am thinking of. It is amazing, isn't it, to think how far our ancesotrs traveled even as recently as in the beginnings of this country. I feel a little put out if I have to park the car more than a few feet from the store or restaurant I am visiting. But our predecessors thought nothing of walking miles in a day. It boggles my mind to think of folks in 79AD traveling all the way to China from the Mediterranean, but I'm sure it happened.
