They should put some humor behind it too...for instance, the lunchroom should be a Hooters.

At last, a reason to visit Arkansas! (No offense, Freepers of AR) I can just see the tour busses to Whitewater. It will finally turn a profit!

I'm donatin' to this.

I think I'll make a contribution - I'd like to have a brick in there somewhere with my name on it for all the world to see.

My husband's company has a fundraising program that provides engraved bricks for projects such as this. Please FReepmail me if you are interested.

I hope they will let me give a "Gift donation", in my wife's name, and another in Hillary's.

I'd love to see a plaque stating Hillary funded an entire room.

"President Clinton Ave.", my butt. I hope the locals refer to it as "Sh#thead Street".

If not, why not? Let's start a movement!

Then I certainly expect they make use of the FR "Downside Legacy!!"

BUMP to that. Therein is the real legacy, the real truth, the real history.

Wonder if they are selling tickets or season passes yet... thinking about Christmas list & Arkansas friends and relatives!! :)-

definately a worthwhile donation

My wife kept upping what she wanted to give as we watched him on H&C.

If we're going to set up a FR fund/pool, let's make sure Freepers know about it so that they will donate to the group fund instead of directly.
Both donation types are good, but the donation to the FR fund gets FR's name on the wall.

Now, how do we go about setting up such a thing?

Re: Free Republic Room

From the contributions page on CCL:
"$10,000 - all of the $500 (donation) privileges, plus one of the theme rooms in your name, engraved on a large brass nameplate at room entrance."

At $10 to $20 per Freeper, that's only around 700 Freepers - we can do it!

That sounds very doable! However, before starting any kind of funding project on Free Republic, it needs Jim Robinson's blessing.

My only reservation is that I would not want people to use their FR donations on this instead - FR is more important.

I have considered of both of your points when I formulated the idea.
I think it would be an investment of sorts, especially if the bronze plaque had "www.freerepublic.com" on it.
More traffic is more Freepers - and most likely more donations to FR.

Jim &or John will obviously have to be in on the setup of the FR CCL fund. I did copy Jim on one of my replies. If he doesn't think it's a good idea, so be it.

I'm uncertain how to proceed at this point.

Thank you for your reply! Pinging Jim Robinson to see if he approves is the best way. I'll ping him here one more time.

Fantastic!

We will contribute!

I would like to add an Award Room devoted to Paula Jones, Larry Nichols, and Linda Tripp.

The publication of the Bubbers' books should be immediately halted!

Hmmmmmm. You'd have to talk to the MAN, MrB....I believe either Jim or John Robinson....

But that's a great idea....FREE REPUBLIC would look great on that WALL....
