I worry about the fact that a civilizational Third World War is in the offing, and that there's not much we can do about it.
But I do not worry about the outcome.
See, the Jihadists are not schooled in Aristotelian moderation, that form of civilizational survival that runs throughout Christian civilization. Nosireebob! How can you be moderate in thought and action when the Koranic texts give you licensce to go kill the Christian and turn the Jew into a lampshade?
Well, okay, that's what the mullah down at the madrass said, so it must be true...
Can you all see how they are going to overreach? If Allah tells them to defend the Faith against all comers, then they have to take on the Jews AND the Crusaders. Plus the Russians; they may be Eastern Orthodox, but they're not Muslims, so they ain't one of us. Then there are all them Buddhist and Hindu infidels that need to convert to the True Faith.
These idiots are going to go to war against the whole world. Only one problem, there's more of us than there are of the Islamists. The Jihadi don't see this, yet. By the time they do, it will be too late.
Folks, this is how it will happen. The bin Ladenists are described as clever, resourceful, and intelligent by people ranging from Robert Fisk to Yosef Bodansky. But no matter how clever you are, you can't escape history. Their own fanaticism will be their undoing.
History has spoken once before, in 1945. It will again.
