Georgetown University in the nation's capital pride itself on being "founded in 1789 and the nation's oldest Catholic and Jesuit university." Georgetown is still a Jesuit University but it hasn't beeb a "Catholic" University for over a quarter of a century. I went to Catholic University across town and waaaaay back then we were surprised and angered by the pro-abortion activities of the faculty staff and student government.

Looks like Georgetown already got around to pulling their site. I am sure the pro-life organizations are all over this already. I hope they saved the webpages...I did.

So long as the basketball team made the sweet 16, nobody cared.
I'm kind of surprised some others aren't on this list.

I bet they did. Just the fight to get Crucifixes back in the classrooms was unreal. This is ridiculous.

Wheeling Jesuit University, in Wheeling, W.Va., is among the many officially pro-abortion "Catholic" colleges. In May of 2000, Janey Reno was Commencement Speaker. The event is memorialized on their website, and the presence of "pro-life demonstrators" OUTSIDE the gates of the campus is mentioned.

Reminds me of 1984 - forget the real meaning of words and ideas, just use false words and get peoples' minds 100% twisted. Call it Catholicism, or religion, but it really is a whorehouse and murders' den.
It is past time for people who are disgusted by the liberals' horse s**t to stand up and SHOUT about it, demonstrate, etc. I've tried writing letters to editors for years and they have never printed one. We have to get over our fear of standing up. Thanks to all on this site who keep informed and inform others.
I just found out about this website last week and I love it.

On the other hand, Tom Monaghan is starting another campus of Ave Maria U. in Florida.

Does anyone have any info on the Univ. of Dallas? I know Janet Smith was a Professor there (may still be) and she is a very vocal supporter of Humanae Vitae. Also, does UD have a Law School? Our son plans to attend Law School in the fall and is looking for a good school in the South. He's tired of the snow and cold up here in MA.
I wish Ave Maria School of Law would go ahead and move to FL with the University, and would do it by next fall!! LOL!

Uhm, not put to put a wrench into your desire to see a good
Catholic college in the US, but what with all the
Opus Dei connections at Ave Maria I wouldn't
want my kids going there, come out like members of a cult,
with "the pope is never wrong" attitude... Or,
worse... "you mean there was a Catholic Church before
Vatican II"
O the other hand it is better to send you children to a secular college, near
home, where they can commute, then to send them
off to a so called Catholic College, like any of those
in the article.
No thanks.

Thank goodness for LifeSite. I, for one, will never contribute to Catholic Charities or any supposed Catholic cause again. My family and I used to but now I only contribute to the Salvation Army and the local pregnancy centers. I also am very unhappy with the Catholic Churches in my area but have just found a chapel that has traditional latin masses. I think that Catholicism should revert back to values and customs before Vatican II.

This organization is clearly doing very good work pointing this out. Hopefully it will embarass the scumbags. Pope should come down hard on them as well. No more using the Catholic brand name if the product is pure satan.

Does anyone have any info on the Univ. of Dallas? Univ of Dallas went through a purge a year or two ago and got rid of some of the people that gave them a conservative reputation. Kind of like Univ San Francisco getting rid of Fr. Fessio and the Ignatius Institute. There's a reason that Janet Smith is no longer there. It's been a little while and I'm on my second new computer since then, or else I'd try to point you to some documentation.
