Kushner is one of New Jersey's top political contributors and fund-raisers. Through his Florham Park-based real estate empire -- which includes more than 60 partnerships and corporations -- he has funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars into the campaigns of McGreevey, former President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Sens. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, Robert Torricelli and Jon Corzine, and Reps. William Pascrell and Robert Menendez.
Mr. Kushner is a commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, was appointed by President Clinton to the US Holocaust Memorial Council, and has been active in the leadership of numerous Jewish institutions, medical centers, and performing arts organization in the New York/New Jersey area.
Kushner’s real estate octopus includes more than 60 partnerships and corporations. Kushner is chairman of the board of Norcrown Bank, one of the firms listed among his holdings in disclosure forms. Westminster Management Limited Liability Co, also on the disclosure list, is the property management affiliate of Kushner Companies headquartered in Florham Park.
The affiliate manages 22,000 apartment units and three million square feet of commercial property in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts and Florida, according to the Kushner Companies Web site.
The list of development firms includes numerous limited liability companies with names that cannot be readily identified with a project or location, like Holiday Associates, Township Associates and St Luke's Associates.
Along with the development companies, Kushner's holdings include nine investment companies, four management firms, three brokerage companies, two insurance companies, a laundry, a caterer and a legal firm that processes reimbursements, the disclosure form shows. Kushner owns interests in 216 real estate firms according to his disclosure form.
