You are absolutely correct about Mr. De Wine and Mr. Voinovich. I'd nominate Sen. Bailey Huchison of Texas, Allen of Virginia, or Nickles of Oklahoma. Any of the three, including the lady, have more glandular gravitas than Trent Lott or our own pair of Buckeyes.

Not if you want a conservative who respects the Constitution and actually advocates the implementation of conservative ideals. But if you want a 'conservative Republican', well, we all know there are plenty of those.
