[history]
December 12, 2002 -- AMERICA'S military posture toward terrorists and tyrants finally escaped the Clinton legacy of cowardice and wishful thinking. In a distinctly un-Washingtonian display of common sense, President Bush told the world that the United States will not let bullies throw the first punch any longer, and that those who fight dirty will die an even dirtier death.

power is only effective if your enemies understand you are willing to employ itRight. Saddam Hussein, of all people, understands this principle ("THIS IS NEXT WE HAVE THIS ANTHRAX YOU CAN NOT STOP US").

Yes. Thank you, Sir. Well said, and our family agrees wholeheartedly. I will echo our same sentiments to our President. W is a good man. A thoughtful man, and a patient man. Personally, I wish he would move up the deadline and tell Rummy, "Let's Roll."
I think I'm going to Freep the White House and ask President Bush to Push (I like that) Donald Rumsfeld to, "Let's Roll."
Any FReeper want to make a permanent post entitled, "Let's Roll."?

And this comes on the heels of Condi Rice advising the Chinese general who made the comment "They [US] won't risk losing Los Angelas to save Taipei", that we will use ALL means necessary to protect Taiwan from coerced reunification with Red China.
And if the move is made while we're busy in Iraq, the response WILL be devastating.
We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more...LET'S ROLL !!!

Colonel Peters is rapidly moving to the forefront of commentators on foreign affairs. It's a pity a man this intelligent, knowledgeable, and forthright isn't directly involved in shaping our military posture and responses to the provocations of the gangster-states of the world.

The Clinton administration's dread of fighting seriously for any cause, ever, together with its Max Factor approach to warfare (cosmetic strikes only), accelerated the expansion of global terrorism dramatically. Clinton was al Qaeda's best recruiting agent. what do you get when you cross a socialist with a actor that will say anything to increase poll numbers?

We are the most powerful nation in history. But power is only effective if your enemies understand you are willing to employ it. What does "most powerful" nation mean?
What difference does it make to have disintegrator rays and transmogrifiers if the enemy knows we will not use them until we get permission or "approval" from a bunch of the enemy's buddies?
Just review the attitude recently revealed of the Iranian hostages and why their captors finally released them.
Walk softly but carry a big stick is meaningless if the stick has a trigger guard on it and the enemy's friends have the key.
"Scream loudly but act like a fourth world power" has most of the sand-maggots rolling on the ground laughing at the U.S.
