Good questions. If Maxine doesn't DEMAND these actions, then we should DEMAND that she and the Black Congressional Caucus DISBAND on the grounds that THEY are being racists.

Not to start an argument here. The issue between Lott and Byrd is that they both have racist backgrounds. However, Byrd has publicly distanced himself from his roots(the white nigger comment was a poor, unwise attempt to say there are good whites and bad white as there are good blacks and bad blacks).

Lott, in his dumbass move last week, gave rise to the inference that he embraced the dixiecrat platform yet today.

Now, the burden of persuasion has shifted to Lott to prove otherwise.

They dont need to. Byrd loses that position when the new Senate starts up. President Pro Tempore of the Senate is the longest serving senator from the Majority Party. Byrd is lame duck.
