What you NEVER see is an honest discussion of the catastrophic costs of CO2 capture and sequestation.
Couple this with the lack of clear evidence that we have a problem and you've got a head shaker.

"Follow the money trail" a wise man once said. But then why not use the B.S./El Crapo/Phoney Baloney of "CO²" as our excuse to drasticly reduce aliens/tourists visits to our country. These folks sho do emit alot of CO², you know.

"What they fail to report is that this increase was measured mostly in and around urban centers, and therefore indicates urbannot globalwarming." --
For example in Houston they now take the temperatures at Bush airport which is covered with asphalt and buildings, and the temp. is higher there. They don't take the temps. out in the country, where they would get no temp. increase.
"Even more interesting, but also left unreported, is the fact that from 1946 until 1975, while industrialization expanded and carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere increased, urban surface temperatures actually cooled. At the time, many in the media feared a new ice age. Such facts throw into question the belief that global warming exists and that industrialization is affecting the earth's temperature." --
SO TRUE!!!!! And what caused the Ice Age and the Global warming afterward that made it possible for earth to sustain abundant life?????
climate change is a natural phenomenon, which has been going on for hundreds of millions of years. Ice core samples from the Arctic, for example, show an 18ºF temperature variation during the last 160,000 years. Dr. Singer further notes that solar activity greatly affects the temperatures and the climate on earth. --
They just don't take into account natural climate cycles. For example some years it snows here, some years it doesn't. We have really hot summers and mild ones. Some years it is really wet, flooding, etc. Some years we have droughts. All here in tiny Lake Jackson Texas. Lots of climate cycles, fluctuations.... One year we had three floods here, 1979. We laughing call that year Global Flooding. HA If you talk to the guys who do the repair work on home A/C units they will tell you how the temperatures fluctuate. They are smarter than the "scientists".

Of the 745mt of CO2 released into the atmosphere each year, just 7mt is the result of man. That's about 0.94% of the total.
3mt of that 7mt is absorbed by the oceans(0.40%of total/43%of man-made CO2), 2mt remains in the atmosphere(0.27%of total/28.5%of man-made) and 2mt is taken up by other means, mostly plant life.

"...during the last three years more than 17,000 American scientists, including geophysicists, climatologists, meteorologists, and oceanographers, have signed the Oregon Petition declaring that "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of . . . greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate." Jeez....17 T H O U S A N D (with a 'T') just agreed that Global Warming is bunk! Shout this from the mountaintops.

Can I get your source? Not doubting you, this is big ammo I'd like to have at the ready. Thanks,

The pettition has been around a while and it's been quite a while since they updated the list, so I suspect that they have well over 20,000 bonafide signers by now.

Correction...mt should be Gt(gigatons)
I'm awake now.
To: LasVegasMac
Certainly here are a few from my bookmarks
Envirotruth.org(great site and getting better)
Association of British Drivers
CO2 Science Magazine click on the search.
I'm sure you could find more sources on google too.
The numbers will vary slightly from source to source and the Brits use Gigaton, whereas the rest of the world uses Billionton both = 109

"There Has Been No Global Warming for the Past 70 Years, the Arctic - which according to essentially all climate models is supposed to be the harbinger of things to come for the rest of the world - is not yet as warm as it was in the late 1930s and early 1940s. In fact, because temperatures were so high for so long back then, the authors report that linear regression trends calculated from the 1920s to the present show a small but statistically significant cooling tendency." This is from CO2 Science Magazine, written by Sherwood Keith and Craig Idso, appearing December 11, 2002.
What one is not told, is that there were five reports submitted to the environmental committee studying global warming. Only one report mentioned global warming. One out of five! So, the scientists with their on agenda to push, chose the report that said there was global warming.
I suggest everyone read "the skeptical environmentalist" by Bjorn Lomborg. He has chapters on global warming, forestation, etc. Lots of fact, graphs and quotes which you can use to debunk the global warming alarmists.

Here's an
overall view that factors water vapor(also a Greenhouse gas) into the equation that further reduces mans "contribution" to GW.
The links in his references are good ammo too.

I second your endorsement of
SE, and add a caution.
Don't lend it out, it never comes back. LOL.

If you really want to have fun...listen around to NPR on Fridays and about every two months...they bring some idiot on to talk just on global warming....call the idiot up and ask what effect the sun has on global warming...and listen to the 4 seconds of silence. They will try to move the subject along and avoid this whole discussion. None of the 'experts' want anything to do in explaining the sun's effect...because none...quote NONE unquote....of them have any background in sun activity. They have no knowledge or education involving anything beyond earthly matters....and thats where the whole joke fails.

I have always asked the same question of these "Global Warmers" and they never give any answer:
If you are right, how come the seas are not sterile after all the oil spilled into the oceans during the First and Second World Wars?"
I once did some research in college some 40 years ago and the results were astounding! Wish I remembered the exact figures, but the vast tonnage of oil and Avigas spilled in those two conflicts makes the current one off Spain (excuse the pun) a drop in the ocean.
Mankind is a pinprick compared to the power of Mother Nature.

Many thanks for your links.
Did you see the bit about what the temps did immediately after 9/11 - no jets flying for several days - ??
Wish I would have bookmarked that article.
Thanks, again.

If you consider that glaciers once covered Kansas, you will see that global warming has been going on for a long time and you will understand that not all global warming is bad. In fact, there is more land area uninhabitable by cold (northern Canada, Siberia, Antarctica) than there is by heat (the Sahara, the Gobi, Arabia).
