And I would say "KISS MY REAR" President Bush. Some people's votes are more important to you than standing up for what is right instead of letting them use race as an issue AGAIN like they did with Judge Pickering and you didn't defend him either.

'Standing up for what is right' means dumping this moron. Given the makeup of the committee at the time, Bush did the best he could for Pickering. He might have had a second chance, after Bush's efforts in the election. But Pickering is now finished---thanks to Lott.

Yep.

Ironic though that so far, it seems each of my action points is coming true. Now let's hope Lott has been convinced behind the scenes to accept a committee chair.

It is more than the comments........it is about Lott's constant inability to think before speaking, his ineffective style, and how damaged he will now be; he won't be as effective in getting the President's agenda through.

He should not leave for the comments (which were NOT RACIST), but for the other reasons.

Nobody can ever rightfully accuse Bubba-2 of having too much courage. He ain't gonna back ANYBODY if he thinks it would put him at any political risk. It's all about power, not right or wrong.
