...as body search arrives in cultural minefield of Afghan frontier.
I idly mention to my translator in Peshawar how a war photo published in all the Pakistani dailies has outraged everyone who has seen it....(snip)
"Look a little closer," I said. "That is a woman soldier who is patting the Afghan lady down."
"Impossible," all the Muslim men in the room say in unison. The masculine ambience of this frontier city near the Khyber Pass is so pervasive that, at least in the warlord's antechamber, a female soldier is utterly inconceivable....(snip)

First of all, I'm going to need photos to back this up: GI Janes flaunt their sports bras
Second of all, I most certainly do NOT need photos to back this up: That is a woman soldier who is patting the Afghan lady down."

Most important to me was - we try to be culturally sensitive and have the search conducted by a woman/women and not only get zip, zero, nada credit for that but the same photo is used against us to show that we truly are the Great Satan. Anthropologically, it's hard to believe that a culture that delusional has even survived into this century - let alone grown in numbers.

So the men in a predominately homosexual country can't distinguish between men and women. Maybe that's the problem over there.

Maybe Rush is right...
Maybe we DO need an Amazon Battalion.
The downside for these trogs would be that they were killed by women.
The upside would be that one of the last things they ever saw would be scores of big, bouncy American titties coming straight at them.

Sorry Owl, no sports bra photo (Not that I didn't try).

I really would like to see photographic proof of this.

This grainy scan of a yellowed clipping was published in the Kingsport Times News on September 19, 1990.
It is permanently tacked above my desk.
This is in my mind perhaps the best depiction of the divergence between the American and Arabic outlook.

Issue female american soldiers camouflaged skirts that they can wrap around their waists to make it clear that they are women. If battle erupts, they can remove them easily enough if they keep their pants on underneath. It would also give them some cover that could help solve the urinary tract infection problem that the army has from women not wanted to expose themselves to pee because the skirt, as it historically did, could be used to cover them.

Just made a copy and printed it for the board above my desk!
Thanks!

I don't know which I'd dread more:
a couple of lady GI's with M-16s
or
a couple of Muslima uvulating at top volume
At least with the lady GIs, they would just shoot you and the suffering would be done...
when those Muslimas get to top volume, the torture seems to go on forever...
