Karl Rove isn't stupid. He knows, that if it appears Sen.Lott was forced out by the Bush WH, it would be a huge political victory for the Democrats. I'm all for replacing Lott as GOP Senate leader, but not on the terms of the liberal establishment. I'm appalled at the spineless and weak kneed reaction that so many conservatives and Republicans have exhibited in the last week over the trumped up charges against Sen.Lott. If the GOP loses control of the Senate over this, it will be a dark day for all conservatives.

My sentiments exactly. I've wanted to replace Lott for a long time now, but doing so as a result of Rat pressure is repugnant in the extreme, and replacing him with the likes of a Rino like Frist is the worst of all worlds. ...especially if Lott's departure means losing control of the Senate.
