I'm in Eastern WA and it looks like someone hit my lawn with a fire hose, the turf is toast. It rained so hard that it sounded like ball bearings slamming into the roof.

Sounds like you might have gotten some hail over there. Are you by Walla Walla or Pullman? I lived in Pullman for eight years, and I always hated it in December when a warm (chinook) system came through -- made me feel like I was in Western Washington again!
