I cannot remember someone who is leading in he polls dropping out. I also cannot remember anyone who is working his tail off to get on TV, get money and attack his opponent suddenly drop out.
Freepers, there is something wrong here. I do recall he had some sort of a business meeting in China. Does anyone have any information on this? I don't know if this is it or something else. But it sounds like someone spoke to AL Gore about something very important. Following this he decided to quit the race. This has happened to a senator or representative from time to time, but never a fish this big.
There is nothing different in Gore and the race today that wasn't true last week.

Gore has always been erratic, repeatedly failing to complete his course of studies in several schools, conceding to Bush in 2000, then retracting only to concede again. He couldn't even finish out a very cushy "tour" of duty in Vietnam. Did you watch his behavior during the debates? Remember his bizarre make-up in one of them? The man just isn't all there. It could well be that he made the decision to withdraw all on his own. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if he reversed himself on that, too.

I also cannot remember anyone who is working his tail off to get on TV, get money and attack his opponent suddenly drop out Gore went on a big press and media assault, and the silence in Jay Leno's audience, uncomfortable silence, that greeted him, was part of what made up his decision. That and the big liberal U.S. money people and evidentally the Chinese, said no to funding his campaign.
So his "gut" told him not to run, I guess.
