Seven of the top ten wealthiest in Congress are Leftists. How much legislation are they proposing/passing which will ultimately apply to themselves? If it doesn't affect them, what happens?

An idea occurred to me some time ago which in essence related legislation endorsed or passed by politicians.

In the nutshell, if liberals were to put a bill on the floor/pass legislation to;

  1. Regulate SUVs and/or vehicle size and mileage, those endorsing it should be expected to live for a specified period under similar terms. Provide them with a government issued Escort…, continue the driver, and forbid the use of any personal vehicle which doesn’t comply with their mandates.
  2. Increase the tax structure, again specify time (which should be fiscal) and require them to structure their returns consistent with the terms of the legislation they proposed.
  3. Education bills should include their children. Allow them to be educated for a semester in the public school which services their district.
  4. Mandate the energy efficiency standards of our homes and utilities, they too should be subject to similar standards in their 6-8,xxx square foot homes.
  5. Bills for socialized medicine should require those in favor to terminate relationships with personal physicians for six months to receive treatment under a government plan. ...

The terms would apply to each party.

Ditto the press.

NY Times owner Pinch Sulzberger inherited an unassailable monopoly based on selling processed dead trees. He drives an SUV, private schools his kids and enjoys a country home. Times bleeding heart liberal (on domestic policy) Tom Friedman married a millionairess, as did uberlib Michael Kinsley.

The leftist code simply does not permit one to think about "himself," only "others" who are need or in pain. Wealthy leftist congressmen are like left wing celebrities (especially if they did NOT inherit wealth). There is a feeling of guilt. Once the point at which the amount of wealth is explained by hard work and the amount no longer makes sence in that context, you get guilt. It is what motivates celebrity liberals.

They can justify what they have, feel guilty, and work to provide something to others. Only, they don't do it with what they've acquired (for the most part), they do it with other peoples' money, generally the taxpayers.

So, your wealthy congressmen would never think of limiting their own actions because that would impede their efficiency and their need to accomplish so much for the little people. The rules don't apply to them while they are doing their good deeds.

How about a painful truth website that simply lists all public figures who elude the laws they recommend or support for the rest of us?

Kerry wants to cancel tax refunds!

The Leftists (Kerry included) demanded that Cheney take Halliburton earnings and give them to ex-employees. He did sell-out but it cost him some $15 million in taxes.

--I believe referring to John F. Kerry as "Ketchup" Kerry would be appropriate--

Don't forget to eliminate their sweet pensions, and limit them to SS, on the same terms as we get.

The first step should be to require each congress critter to do their own tax return. The only help they should get is by calling the IRS helpline (without identifying themselves) like all the rest of us. No help from Big 5 accounting firms, no tax lawyers paid for by the rest of us.

Let them struggle with all the b.s. the rest of us are forced to deal with. Maybe let them buy TurboTax, but no paid help.

Two year of this could lead to major tax simplification/relief.

I added the "..." at the end to allow for everything unlisted. Social Security would have to be defined under the terms of their legislation.
