Jimmy Carter was a nuclear scientist who couldn't (and still can't pronounce the word nuclear. He used to pronounce it "nucular" and now he says "newuler".

Yet GW Bush gets raked over the coals as a "moron" for saying "nucular" at times. It wasn't his field of study like it was for Jimmy. Can we take to calling Mr. Peanut a moron?

The problem with Carter is not that he's dumb. It is that he convinced himself that other people, both friends and enemies, are neither as smart, as wholesome or as worthy as he.

Pride and an overpowering self-righteousness are what I think of with Carter, not stupidity. Just stroke his ample ego and even a certified lunatic like Kim Il Jong can hustle Jimmy.
