December 17, 2002 -- WHAT would be the best way to convert lots of Americans to Islam?
Forget print, go to film. Put together a handsome documentary with an original musical score that presents Islam's prophet Muhammad in the most glowing manner, indeed, as a model of perfection. Round up Muslim and non-Muslim enthusiasts to endorse the nobility and truth of his message. Splice in vignettes of winsome American Muslims testifying to the justice and beauty of their Islamic faith. Then get the U.S. taxpayer to help pay for it.

Muslim women today suffer widely from genital mutilation, forced marriages, purdah, illiteracy, sexual apartheid, polygamy and honor killings.

Let's take a look at all of the conflicts occuring in the world:
 Muslims vs. Christians
 Muslims vs. Jews
 Muslims vs. Hindus
 Muslims vs. Buddhists
 Muslims vs. Atheists
Now, I am not a genius, so can anybody tell me the common denominator in all of these conflcits? I just can't figure it out.

Yes! Defund PBS! It's not getting very much taxpayer money, so it wouldn't be hard for a couple of Hollywood leftists to come up with the cash to run it. The same goes for NPR and the NEA.

Dont cha luv it when equalitarian liberals go around their janitorial duties of cleaning the sh!t off the face of criminals!!!!
To: kattracks
Ooooo, just wait until their next beg-a-thon. I'm going to call and ask why I should give them any money at all if this is how they plan to use it. I'll call several times, in fact. Maybe a lot of other people will, too. "Just listen to those phones!"
To: hellinahandcart
Just call their toll-free number and tie up their phone lines.
Get your friends to do it also. Don't have to say nuttin.
You could say you want to make a pledge... to never listen to their drivel again.
Pinko, elitist scum!

A close look at the contributors is revealing. This was copied from an Islamist-- 'scuse me, I mean
Islamic--web site linked to the PBS Site.
MUHAMMAD: LEGACY OF A PROPHET was produced by Unity Productions Foundation and Kikim Media. Funders: The Corporation for Public Broadcasting The David and Lucile Packard Foundation Sabadia Family Foundation El-Hibri Foundation The Qureishi Family Trust Arabian Bulk Trading, Ltd. ...and more than 4,000 individual donors. Kikim Media draws on 25 years of experience in print and broadcast journalism to engage, entertain and inform audiences. Productions are guided by a fundamental commitment to fairness and accuracy and by an abiding conviction that a true story, honestly told, can change people's lives. Unity Productions Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) production company whose mission is to develop balanced, fair and accurate journalistic material concerning the world's cultural and spiritual traditions in order to help increase understanding and tolerance.
How much of this was Saudi financed? How much has PBS accepted from Islamic entities and to what degree has this colored their editorial content?

"I'll call several times, in fact." Excellent idea, and I smile when I think of the "volunteer" on the other end of the phone.
Flatter them to start, allude to certain "concerns" and then explain why you "ain't givin' them sh_t." Tell them when you might change your mind, thank them and hang up.

I've noticed around here there holding more and more begathons. That's a good sign.

    What the hell is "purdah"?
To: KC_Conspirator
    pur·dah ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pûrd) n.
A curtain or screen, used mainly in India to keep women separate from men or strangers. The Hindu or Muslim system of sex segregation, practiced especially by keeping women in seclusion. Social seclusion: Never have artists been more separate: their inordinate fame, wealth, drug use have driven them into luxurious purdah (D. Keith Mano).
