Yo nanny, you edging into the "rich people are evil" mantra of the Democrats.

I never equated wealth with the worth of the individual. I was just saying that from a business point of view, where the idea is to turn a profit, the idea of a company putting most of its eggs into the Mobile Home financing basket seems to be less than brilliant.

BTW, I have no doubt that there are beautiful moble homes and that there are some where the owners put them on lots they own. My impressions of mobile homes comes from:

My parents friends. They own a doublewide in Hallandale, FL. It is in a very nicely kept area with mostly retirees. This park has several hundred lots and homes (the lots are leased year to year). Since you seem to put much weight on the cars that are driven, I would have to say that they are for the most part filled with Pontiacs, Buicks, and Oldsmobiles, the type most retirees drive.

Flying in and out of Fort Lauderdale. As you land or take off, you can see these HUGE trailer parks stretching off into the distance.

My wife provided in home day care for a friend of ours from high school who lived in a trailer park. She regaled us with "trailer park tales" as she told us of how much she wanted to sell the thing and move.

On vacation in North Carolina we came across the mobile home breeding ground. We stayed in a Motel 6 that was next to what had to be the universal epicenter to all things mobile home. There were mobile home dealers and manufactures on both sides of the road for MILES!

I went to a high school where a fair percentage of the kids lived in a nearby large trailer park. While the kids were nice, most were definitely monitarily challenged.

Sorry, that sounds very snobbish to me. Just no good, low income, irresponsible, deadbeats, low class. Yeah, it sounds snobbish.

Understand, nowhere in my experience, or in my postings, have I referred to mobile home owners as no good, irresponsible, deadbeats, or low class. I will grant you that I have referred to them as low income, a position that I am sure is backed up by reality. In fact, the only one here who has besmerched trailer park residents would be...you.

And before you lump me into the rich snob catagory, while I do drive an Audi, it is a company car and not owned by me. My home is a modest 1072 square foot home on a 70 by 100 lot with two bedrooms for the four of us. My wife works as a pre-school teacher and the Director of Children and Family ministries. I manage a t-shirt company and after work do odd computer jobs to bring in some much needed extra income. I sing in two choirs, and am the Pack Chairman of my sons cub scout pack. I can think of many appropriate words to describe my me and my life. Snob and snobbish are not in the top 100.
