Please name the state this was performed in then. no offense but this is really not ringing true.
Let me tell you a little story. A true story which occurred in a California hospital. One day a "Code Blue" call came out over the intercom. "Code Blue, Pathology, Code Blue, Pathology."
Pathology. An ER doc with an ER nurse, security, and the House Manager in addition to several other physicians responded. At the door, the ER nurse was shut out as was all security. Those who were able to get a glimpse and hear the story heard the following: The pathologist took a supposedly deceased NICU preemie out of cold storage for an autopsy. As he put the baby under the autopsy lights, the baby began to
move. The Code was called by an unknown person. Several prominent physicians, the ER doc, and the pathologist were observed standing around this table watching this preemie clinging to life. A voice was overheard "Just do the minimum." Let's just say the baby died and 'officially' no one ever knew it came back life (or rather, it was never completely dead in the first place). The story was "it never happened". Do you think anyone reported that to the state? No one wanted to lose their jobs, much less their licenses.
Don't ever doubt corruption can happen, even in the most "honorable" institutions. This was a private hospital. Public hospitals are worse. Don't even get me started on medics in the field.
