Yup, only the purest ideologues need to apply for the Senate ML, according to some articles I have been reading today. If some can't have 100% of what they want, then they'll take 0%.

Look, Don Nickles is about as conservative as they come in the US Senate. I would have been happy with him as ML. Mr. Nickles thought Frist would make for a fine ML and endorsed him. That should count for a lot, IMHO. A ML's job is to enact the GOP Caucus' agenda, not his own.
