Thank you for all the lovely scenes you give us, loddy.

When we first went to Fairbanks, we lived out near the Fairbanks Airport, two blocks from the Chena River.

In Florida, I had to caution my two young sons to watch for snakes - there were none in Alaska, thankfully, but through the yard in Fairbanks daily came all the 'critters' to get water at the River.

The admonition, then, literlly became "watch for bears and wolves and caribou!"

Here is the current view of the Chena River at 06:14:48 from the Live Cam at the Bureau of Land Management there in Fairbanks:

Good morning, Lady. You have so many interesting stories to tell! That is one of the nice things about life in the military. Only growing up in the military would I have been able to experience such a wide range of things, like Christmas "beach parties" on Guam, and waiting in that endless line filing past JFK's casket in the Capitol rotunda. At the time, of course, I had no idea how enriching these life experiences were. The military life is often not easy on families, but I wouldn't have traded my childhood for anything. :-)

Great memories of your past spent in Alaska!

Good Morning, LadyX.
How are things in the east this cold, crisp morning?

Thanks for the ping to the Fairbanks Camera.

We visited only the southern coast area of Alaska....Sitka, Juneau & Glacier Bay....hope to return to see more of that magnificant state one day!

Wishing you & yours a Joyous Christmas & Happy New Year!
