The Americans are also reported to have stationed an Aegis destroyer equipped with sophisticated radar and shorter-range anti-missile defences in the Mediterranean off the coast of Israel.
This is really good news.
The Aegis system has far reaching radars...also uplinks to satillite.
Israel will have their satillite grid alligned to Arrow and the Patriots...both countries systems overlapping for coverage.
The writer of the article likes to spin Bush's descision making in regards to Israel and other apsects alligned to the U.N..
Would be nice to burst his bubble....show him the documentation from Emperor Clintonius's reign..where Israel will be the first nation to recieve the F-22 Raptor under foreign sale.
Bill and Hillary are still Turkeys...but even Turkeys have thier moments.

Since when does that mean our troops are "human" shields ...??? Our troops are not in Israel to attack Iraq. We are there on a defensive mission. I don't feel comfortable with puting an American soldier in harms way defending someone else's turf without the option of fighting back.
Shooting down scuds aimed at another country, without the ability to fire back is not my idea of how our forces should be used. You are acting as a shield against incoming missles.
If you want to use our troops on a defensive mission, put them on the Mexican border where a real threat to this country exists, in the form of illegal immigration. - Tom

Should be intersting...The weight of Ishmaels sins.
Sometimes overlooked....the comment to be clearly seen in the Ancient Hebrew records forwarded.
Nations are weighed in the balances...the Almighty comments.."Not just yet..for their sins are not complete yet..or have not come to fullness".
Part of the mystery between our realm and Ha'Shems.
Canaan was cursed...He was actually cursed first by his own family..for treacherously entering the Covenant land of Shem..after lots were drawn by Noah and sworn on oath before the Ancient of Days.
Canaans own family said to him..and recorded in the book of Jubilee's.."Do not do this..for you shall be accursed..you and your children shall be destroyed from the land..driven from it...for you entered it in sedition..and by sedition will you and your children be driven from it"
Canaans sin...how soon is it before fullness?
The Amalekites..[The Saudi's..Islam]..how long before their sins come to fullness?

Maybe our troops can help out in the West Bank a/k/a Samaria

AFTER THE TRANSGRESSION!
It sorta gives one pause to contemplate . . . uh . . . will punishment for MY sins be exacted on innocent descendants of mine thirty or forty generations from now. If so, what is MY sanction? . . . and if MY sanction is to be administered in real time then why punish the innocents waaaaaaaaaaay down the road???
. . . Thy Will be done.

"without the option of fighting back" ??
I think shooting patriot missles is "fighting back".
And ... who said they would not be allowed to fire back?? I cannot even fathom Rumsfeld making such a rule.

I don't feel comfortable with puting an American soldier in harms way defending someone else's turf without the option of fighting back. From the gist of the article/thread. it sounds like we're there to help defend the Isrealies. W. has given Isreal the right to shoot back if attacked, so they'd be defending our defenders of them. Sounds like a cooperative arrangement to me. I'm sure there are also some of our Sppok & SF guys working with Mossad and IDF SF types as well.

Let's hope the Isreali's don't mistake the AEGIS in the same way they "mistook" the identity of the Liberty.

With that in mind, perhaps the IDF might reign in their methods for as long as they are hosting our boys. Definitely a candidate for dumbest post of the day, Phil. Congrats.
