I noticed that that fruitcake has his wedding ring on his right hand. Is that a gay thing?

I noticed that that fruitcake has his wedding ring on his right hand. Is that a gay thing? Yes. From a gay site:
When lesbian and gay couples started wearing bands on their hands to signify a commitment, they were hesitant to wear them on the ring finger of the left hand. Many of them were not out at work and the people in their lives knew they weren't married in the traditional sense. Therefore, many of them chose the ring finger of the right hand so that the people they were out to would know what it meant but the world at large would not.

I don't know if it is a "gay" thing; but I once took a class with a young girl who was Greek Orthodox and she asked me about my wedding ring on my left hand. She told me that in her church they put the wedding ring on the right hand. I was surprised by that, as I had thought it would have been the same.
However, seeing that this is San Francisco, all bets are off as to why the ring is on the right hand.
