This is total insanity.
His people are starving, the only ones that can feed them are the White Farmers and he's shut them down and kicked them off their property.
He's not going to have much to rule over when he's done.

an advantage in living in a free and armed society is that in such a society, mrs. mugabe's announcement would have served the additional function of being her last words.

Several hundred farmers, particularly in the provinces where Mr Mugabe's ruling Zanu-PF party is strong, have fled their homes and businesses, most of them for ever. Why don't they organize, take up arms and fight? If I am about to lose my home that has been in my family for generations to a bunch of thugs, they are going to pay a heavy price for it (and if they do manage to occupy it, it will be a burnt out shell with poisoned wells).
Since when does being civilized mean being a coward?

The farm, which is almost 2,500 acres, has only 400 arable acres, and has been idle for 18 months since Mr Mugabe's militia arrived and prevented the Matthews from growing any crops. However, the fact of militias preventing people from growing crops has nothing to do with the impending famine, which instead is solely being caused by drought, foreign governments, currency troubles, American interventionalism, and the phases of the moon. Yeah, that's the ticket.

If all the white people in Zimbabwe and South Africa move to the USA and give birth to children here, will the children be "African Americans"?

Where's Barbra Streisand and Sean Penn now that the country is sinking into self-immolation, starvation, murder, rape, and genocide against whites? I'm sorry; I didn't hear their answers...

For all those who are wondering why there isn't enough food in Zimbabwe, here is the operative sentence from the article:
The farm, which is almost 2,500 acres, has only 400 arable acres, and has been idle for 18 months since Mr Mugabe's militia arrived and prevented the Matthews from growing any crops. [emphasis added to make it clear the starvation is an INTENTIONAL government policy, not a unintended byproduct of land "re-distribution"]
