"I agree with you on SIGNS. So disappointing."

I just warched signs and thought it fantastic. Too many U.S. films smack one over the head with the graphic and bombastic details. Signs made me remember why I love Hitchcock films. It is first class.

I like WW Soldiers for it's depth too; but having been in the Army myself, I like it for it's accuracy and honesty.

"I loved We Were Soldiers I think the women in the story were as much the soldiers as the men. "

I would have to believe that the womens' parts were accurately portrayed and I agree that they too were soldiers.

...I have always been saying that .."WE WERE SOLDIERS".. was more of a woman's Movie than a guy's.

...Isn't it most unusual for a War Movie to have such a Blessed Focus...?

You can count another woman who loved "WE WERE SOLDIERS." Hadn't seen it till tonight when we watched the DVD. Incredably powerful film, it would get my vote for BEST PICTURE - but alas, I don't get to vote. My only objection is a picky one - at the end when Gibson visits The Wall, there are no flowers, no flags, no mementos left by loved ones. When I've visited The Wall, or seen pictures of it, those mementos are everywhere and are very touching to see.

As for SIGNS, we watched that on DVD Friday night, and yes it was better than I expected it to be, but for my money WE WERE SOLDIERS should win it all.

I thought you guys might like to take a look at this. Two of the uniform shirts Mel Gibson wore in the movie are on Ebay.
