Yes ---they just raised their minimum wage to just over $4.00 a DAY ---but the price of their imported tortillas is higher than they are here. Meat in Mexico is now about $5.00 a pound ---more than here. Even in Juarez where wages are better $25 to $30 a week is what someone can expect to make. If you believe there is really free trade, try taking a truckload of used clothes over there to sell or give away ---see what happens to you.

I can't speak for the used clothing market, but since NAFTA was enacted, U.S. manufacturing exports to Mexico have increased. In other words, while some jobs may have been "sucked" southward, others were created here.
