U.S. expects Iraq to hit Israel hard(Missiles aimed at Tel Aviv likely to carry deadly warheads)
World Net Daily ^ | 12/30/02 | Joseph Farah

During the early stages of a U.S.-led attack on Iraq, Israeli population centers in Tel Aviv and elsewhere are expected to be targeted by Iraq's missiles – some of which are likely to be armed with chemical, biological or even nuclear warheads, say WorldNetDaily's U.S. military and intelligence sources.

Unlike the first Persian Gulf War, however, the U.S. is not demanding that Israel sit back and take the blows. Instead, the U.S. is fully anticipating an Israeli response to any attack that results in massive civilian casualties.

The missile attacks on Israel are expected during the air-war phase of the Iraq attack – before U.S. troops can occupy much of the country and secure or destroy hidden missile bases.

Israel has perhaps the most advanced missile defense system in the world, but it is not expected to be 100 percent effective against a barrage assault.

A growing number of U.S. military intelligence analysts believe Hussein has at least limited nuclear capabilities.

"When he is certain his time has come," said one, "he will launch his doomsday weapon. He wants to go down in history as the man who destroyed Israel."

In addition to lashing out at Israel, Saddam Hussein is expected to blow up many of his oil wells. Already, sources say, he has begun mining them in ways that will make it most difficult to extinguish the fires and cap the wells.

The contingency plan of attack on Iraq calls for a four-phase campaign:

The first phase is under way – it involves mobilizing forces and deploying them in key locations.

The second phase, which will occur after the execute order is issued by President Bush, will be a four-day air war.

The third phase contemplates a 45-day ground invasion.

The final phase is an occupation, regime change and rebuilding effort similar to what is happening in Afghanistan today. U.S. military planners believe Iraq will target Israel early – before U.S. forces have a chance to destroy the regime's missiles. Destroying the wells will be Hussein's second priority, and using any remaining missiles on U.S. forces will be his third priority.

The intelligence sources also say the Iraqi government is kidnapping and arresting its own top scientists – those involved in developing weapons of mass destruction – to keep them away from U.N. weapons inspectors. In addition, more than 1,000 high-level Iraqi officials have defected in recent months. Much of the information about plans and capabilities is coming from those officials.

The order to attack Iraq is not expected to come before the end of January to provide U.N. weapons inspectors the time they need to gather data and make a report, say WorldNetDaily's sources.

One of the major concerns of war planners is how they will destroy Hussein's massive underground facilities. Some of his bunkers are hundreds of feet below the surface and include railroad lines and expensive fortifications. His "super-gun" cannons have never been located and may be hidden within one of these underground facilities.

The Pentagon's burrowing bombs cannot penetrate deep bunkers of this kind. Some planners have even discussed the possibility of using low-yield nuclear bombs.

If Israel is attacked by Iraq with chemical, biological or nuclear weapons, I would expect they would respond by nuking Bagdad and other targets in Iraq.

Strange as it might seem such an action might calm things in the Middle East. I can't imagine Syria, Iran or Saudi Arabia committing to war with Israel knowing that their cities and perhaps Mecca itself would be nuclear targets.

It's just a matter of time, this nutcase is going to take as many Jews & Americans down with him as he can and he doesn't care how many of his own people die during the fracas.

But I thought Iraq doesn't have weapons of mass destruction? How can they use what they claim not to have?

.....more than 1,000 high-level Iraqi officials have defected in recent months.

Does anyone know if this is so? I haven't heard that from any other source.

I doubt that Israel would nuke Baghdad in the early phase of an invasion. I think they would be more likely to nuke one of the military bases in the western desert. However, if Saddam attacks them before an invasion begins all bets are off

Israel has to be asking itself just what level of loss they are willing to suffer. At this point I would hazard a guess that saddam doesn't really need to launch missles, as hte various terrorist groups inside Israel may have the chemicals and biologicals already inside the major cities and population centers. For that matter, they may already have them inside the US, waiting for the "right moment".

Not sure about Mecca, but Bagdad and Damascus, (Iraq and Syria) are toasted in Isaiah 14-19 along with a good part of Jordan. The wording is something like 'in the evening there is trouble, by morning it is over, Damascus is a runious heap.'

It is going to happen, I am just not sure this is the war that it happens in. If so, expect the Middle East all around Israel to go Nuclear fast. A friend of mine had a vision that all the cities from Tel Aviv north (90% of the coast) is nuked. He told me that he had another vision recently, that I called him during Church to tell him Tel Aviv was gone. We both hope he was wrong.

Interesting, but it seems like a "worst-case" analysis to me. If Isreal is hit with CBW or nukes, they may not respond, thereby hoping to gain sympathy in the western world. If the Isreali's do respond, it will not be with nukes, as that would get them in trouble with Bush.

Oh yeah, wink wink. They can't attack us or Israel with something they don't have. All I can say is that when the truth show's it's ugly head it won't be good when they use it against us or our allies.

Read Isa. 29.

Israel please destroy mosques on Temple Mount NOW!

I am afraid many Jews will have to die before Israel does its duty and has war to the death with Amalek in THIS generation

How did they think, they would get away with it, God says to have war against Amalek in ALL your generations.

Oh BTW, "the Mecca" in Hebrew sounds like "the Waiting One,-- the one who is waiting."

What is it waiting for? A good nuking, is what I would say.

My hope is that the Israeli forces coordinate with the US. Fratricide involving nukes is pretty heavy stuff to contemplate.

Israel has had nuclear capability for at least 25 years. If they feel their nation is in mortal danger, i.e., a nuclear or chemical attack by Iraq, they will go nuclear ... absolutely no question.

If things go as this article indicates, we will have to revisit the notion of ANWR in pretty short order, and the hell with the treehuggers. (or is that caribou huggers in that neck of the woods?)

I pray that it's wrong, but I have a really bad feeling about it.

If I recall correctly, Pres. Bush recently stated that the United States reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in responce to chemical or biological WMD attacks. This statement was not made as a threat, but rather to free Israel to respond similarly.

For that matter, they may already have them inside the US, waiting for the "right moment".

5 of maybe 19 [possibly Pakistani origin] men slipped into the US and are being sought. One report on FoxNews this morning indicated they may be "message carriers" who are delivering some future plans to operative cells. The 5 or 19 seemed to have dispersed to several different cities within the US.

If they have any connection with Iraq (and the dots seem to connect a lot of M E nations/governments/operatives/cells), a war against Iraq could extend to retaliatory attacks here, in Israel, in Australia (via Indonesian militants), etc. It could easily come down to a war of cultures/civilizations. The trouble is, it appears necessary, as militant Islamistis, isn't retracting; rather it is expanding.
