Albanian asylum seeker to face charge for rape of 11-year-old in UK

A TEENAGE asylum seeker accused of raping an 11-year-old girl in a Woolwich swimming pool has appeared in court.

Bujar Rajta, aged 18, of Eglinton Gardens, Woolwich, allegedly carried out the attack at the Waterfront Leisure Centre on August 30 this year.

The Albanian is also accused of molesting two 12-year-old girls at the centre on the same day.

Mr Rajta was remanded in custody by Judge Alan Hitching after a brief hearing at Blackfriars Crown Court, last Friday. A trial date has been set for January 20.
