He was later found to be a member of a Montreal cell of the Algerian Armed Islamic Group, which has strong ties to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network, and was convicted of conspiring to blow up Los Angeles International Airport. There have also been calls to tighten immigration procedures after it was recently revealed that growing numbers of criminal and suspected terrorists were allowed into Canada last year on special permits issued by the federal government. At least 11 people who authorities believe have engaged in "terrorism, espionage or subversion by force" were granted permits that let them enter Canada despite having backgrounds that would normally keep them out -- a number that increased from two in 2000. Another 600 people convicted of a serious crime here or abroad were also among those admitted in 2001, up from 377 in 1999.") (123002)

What is it going to take for the American people to wake up and demand that Mr. Bush militarize and close our borders? Perhaps we'll have an answer to that within the next few days, maybe we'll have to wait until the Super Bowl, who knows?

Mr. Bush said yesterday, "....any time anybody enters the country illegally, we want to know why they're here, and we want to question them."

Does this pertain to the 5000 illegals that literally waltz across our unprotected borders every day, stopping at taxpayer financed water towers for a cool drink?

What a load of BS. I hear the talk, but have yet to see the action.

Mr. Bush, we are tired of the talk, now lets see some action. It is past the time to get serious. Close the borders,,,,,NOW! It's what the American people want.

They've got the borders about as porous as they ever were and meanwhile American citizens are taking off their shoes at the airports and allowing themselves to be frisked ---like a bunch of fools thinking they're safer by doing this.

It's a scary thought, but I think we're doomed, unless the citizens take over the duties of guarding our borders and voting out those that don't agree.

Something has to be done and soon. We're sitting ducks under the "Homeland Security" Act. While natural born citizens are frisked to the point of embarassment, stripped of our freedoms and dignity, the smelly terrorists continue to get Visa's.

I'm so confused and angry over our representatives pathetic efforts to protect those that hired them. Their apathy will be our demise, all in the name of not "offending" the slimy puke enemies of America.

Stay safe and vigilant.
