My, my, you Niner fans looking past the Giants this week. Figure out how to stop Shockey first. He's coming to your house Sunday, we'll be throwing to him quite often. Personally, I'd put away the McNabb film and try to devise a way to contain this unstoppable force first. You see, nobody has yet. (You
did see him slap the Eagles D around last week, didn't you?)
And if you double-up on him, Tiki and Amani will run wild. Such a dilemma...but don't let me interrupt your Philly preparation...; )

I'd never do that, Kordell might read this board. >:) If he reads words as well as he reads defenses, I'd say you are safe.
Go Browns!
To: E Rocc
True, but remember that one of those 2 road loses was at Heinz Field (Granted, in overtime). Like I said this will be a great game to watch. And since I have no emotional attachment to either of these teams I'll tell you Good Luck to your Browns.

By a 1/2 game. That may be true, I'm not sure. But, being from Atlanta, it sounds good to me. Falcons won't get by GB anyway.

I have a question: With Green Bay the #3 seed, SF #4, Atlanta #5, and the Giants #6, why isn't Green Bay playing the Giants and the 49ers playing Atlanta this weekend?
To: E Rocc
Kordell? Who's that?
To: panther33
BTW, it does my heart good that Denver, Miami, and NE are out of the playoffs.

Kordell? Who's that? I think it's a brand of paper towels.

I think I'm now as old as Blanda was when he played his last game -- namely, ancient.

I guess I want the Giants to win because Shockey is my friends' nephew and is high profile. But Zack Bronson (SF)is from right here in my little hometown.
I'll be pulling for Jeremy and Zack which is a bit counter-productive but puts me in a win-win situation. :)
In a year or so, it's going to be Houston Texans ALL THE WAY!!

CORRECTION:OK, that explains the SF/Giants matchup. Thanks.

Get ready to add a fourth.

Okay, let's get everybody up to speed:
I put in the original rankings at the top of the thread:
2002 NFC Playoff Rankings:
1. Philadelphia
2. Tampa Bay
3. Green Bay
4. San Francisco
5. Atlanta
6. NY Giants
OUT: New Orleans, Seattle, St. Louis, Washington, Carolina, Minnesota, Arizona, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit
My source, ESPN.com, still maintains that Atlanta is #5.
In post 39, nypokerface reasoned that the Giants should be #5 over Atlanta because the Giants have the better record.
In post 51, I corrected myself, accepting nypokerface's reasoning and moving the Giants to #5.
In post 76, beaureguard said that Atlanta is #5 over the Giants because Atlanta beat the Giants 17-10 in New York in Week 5.
In post 84, jpl asked that the Giants would be moved to #5 over Atlanta.
In post 90, I questioned beaureguard's reasoning, questioning whether the head-to-head matchup has any relevance if one team has a better record.
However, it is unlikely (though possible) that a major source such as ESPN.com is wrong. beaureguard's proposition in post 76 sounds reasonable, but I am going to need to find official rules and stats and all to settle this debate. NFL.com is giving me grief, and I have a meeting to attend soon, so I will let you guys have at it for a while. If you can link me to an something official, all the better.

LET'S GO, BROWNS !!!

Excellent point. Supports the theory that the Giants are at #5.
