Do you happen to know the NY laws pertaining to running for one office while occupying another? For some reason, I think she would not have to resign her Senate seat to run, thus allowing her to remain in the Senate and become the frontrunner in '08. Edwards, not holding any national political office, would be out of the picture. She may be a lot of things, but she's not so stupid as to run for President against Bush.

This is what I fear:

Hillary!™ has promised not to run for president in 2004, she keeps this promise by running as VP.

The president dies in office after two years and one day.

Hillary!™ becomes president, and under the 22nd Amendment, is still eligble to run for office in 2008 and 2012, giving us the Hillary!™ decade.

Of course in 2016, the will be a major crisis requiring the "temporary" suspension of that year's elections...

I disagree. Edwards might very well take a run at the Dem nomination in 2004, but I doubt he'll go anywhere this time around. However, I'm willing to bet that HE will be HRC's VP nominee in 2008. Besides, Edwards isn't dumb enough to choose the beast as HIS V.P. Anyone with a brain cell realizes that's the fastest way to guarantee one's early death & guarantee her the Presidency. HRC will choose him to exploit the "looks appeal", the trial lawyer campaign contributions and the Southern dem vote. Can't you just vomit picturing the media frenzy over the two of them together?
