SRINAGAR, India, Jan 7 (Reuters) - Suspected separatist guerrillas beheaded three Muslim villagers, including a father and son, in India's strife-torn Himalayan state of Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.

They said three bodies were recovered from a forest near Hapatanar in Anantnag district, south of Srinagar, the state's summer capital. "The dead include Shahbaz Khan and his son Tasveer Ahmad," a police spokesman said.

No militant group has claimed responsibility for the killings but police blamed separatist guerrillas.

Kashmiri rebels have in the past killed Muslim civilians whom they suspect of being police informers.

On Monday, two militants were killed in a gun battle in the Gool area of Udhampur district, south of Srinagar, police said.

Rebel violence has continued despite the November election victory of a new state government that promised to bring peace to the Himalayan region.

New Delhi accuses Islamabad of arming and supporting the revolt against its rule in Kashmir, at the heart of more than half a century of animosity between India and Pakistan.

Islamabad denies the charge, but says it gives diplomatic and moral support for what it calls a legitimate freedom struggle. India controls 45 percent of Kashmir, Pakistan just over a third and China the rest.

Now i know why they're called separatists...they specialise in seperating the head from the body.

Where is CAIR and the rest of the fabled, mythical, mystical moderate muslims of america denouncing this.....

It was their fellow muslims who were beheaded.....

Who was the third? the wife and mother? Trust Reuters to put out half a story....

AMC, CAIR, all the invitees to the WH, where are you?

Hey, Dubya, whaddya think? Gonna have another islami shindig at the White House again?

Far more details by the stalwart and excellent Daily Excelsior....

SRINAGAR, Jan 7: Militants have spread a fresh wave of terror in south Kashmir district of Anantnag as three civilians, including two members of a family, have been slaughtered today. This kind of brutal killing, which took place in the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s home district, has been witnessed first time since the PDP-led coalition Government took over in November last.

Informed sources in south Kashmir told EXCELSIOR that a Tata-407 mini-bus dropped three butchered human bodies at two different spots in Aeshmuqam area of Anantnag district this evening. The vehicle vanished in a locality, which is dotted with camps of security forces and local counter-insurgents. Two bodies with slit throats, which were dropped near a culvert at Hassan Noor village, were identified as those of Shahbaz Ahmed Bhat S/o Abdullah Bhat and his son, Tasveer Ahmed Bhat. Another slaughtered body, which was identified as Barkat Ali S/o Ghulam Rasool, was found near Chandrigam. All the three were residents of Gogaldara Hapatnaar, who had been kidnapped from their respective homes by heavily armed militants during last night.

55-year-old Shahbaz Ahmed Bhat’s another son, Mohammad Ayub Bhat alias Sher Khan, was a militant who had surrendered before security forces and was subsequently working with the counter-insurgent group Ikhwan. Pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen outfit eliminated him three months ago in a landmine blast at an Army camp in Aeshmuqam. Though Shahbaz and his son, Tasveer, were not active counter-insurgents, they too were not spared finally.

Like Shahbaz and Tasveer, Barkat Ali too was a civilian of no counter-insurgent connections. He was working as a watchman at a water reservoir of the State Public Health Engineering Department. However, one of his cousins, namely Ghulam Mohammad Khan alias Chhotu, was reportedly a member of the Ikhwan, who worked for security forces.

The three individuals seemed to have been brutally tortured before their killers slit their throats and made yet another addition to over 40,000 people killed during the last 13 years of militancy. Earlier, in 1995-97 period, the notorious counter-insurgent groups like Ikhwan and Muslim Mujahideen too had eliminated hundreds of militants and their sympathisers and relatives in south Kashmir. However, the former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah’s Government refused to provide any shelter to the counter-insurgents, who later vanished inspite of Army’s patronage.

After the counter-insurgents were discouraged and demobilised, separatist guerrillas regrouped and resumed their activities in the whole of south Kashmir. Anantnag district has been a bastion of Hizbul Mujahideen but Pakistan-based outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Al-Badar and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen have also been carrying out their activities against security forces and civilians suspected to be pro-Indian. Last year, militants of a Pakistan-based pan-Islamist organisation had killed as many as 50 civilians, by slitting their throats, in Pulwama district alone.

Today’s killings were not owned up immediately by any militant outfit, though authorities believe that the same were done by Lashkar-e-Toiba. Lashkar and Al-Badar have been killing their targets by slitting their throats.

Meanwhile, a team of Batmaloo Police Station raided a passenger bus, JK01C-9209, which had just arrived in General Bus Stand of Batmaloo from Anantnag. RDX weighing 40 Kgs, which had been hidden in a milk cane, was recovered from the bus. Its driver, Bashir Ahmed Dar S/o Habibullah Dar of Housing Colony Bemina, was picked up for sustained interrogation. Senior Police officials claimed that the explosive material had reached the capital city for the purpose of sabotage on January 26th, which is India’s Republic Day.

One can't help wondering how many Muslims would convert to Christianity if they would not be murdered by other Muslims.

Those who commit such evil in the name of God commit the ultimate blasphemy.

Not to mention that like in Algeria and even in Chechnya, the biggest casualties of the jihadis are their fellow muslims.

But try telling the folks at CAIR...

It's a shame he couldn't get his head out of his pooper!
