You folks just can?t get over the fact that Bush is unsophisticated. You dug yourselves a mighty deep hole in the ground. I understand the dilemma. If you change your mind on Iraq now, it raises an awkward question. How could a dumb guy like Bush figure it out before the smart set? This is a good time to remember the First Rule of Holes. When you?re in one, stop digging.
Ah, yes! Dumb like the man who wrote more than any other 20th Century president--Ronald Reagan.

If you don?t join us now, when Saddam?s regime falls and Iraqis cheer the US Marines, you are really going to feel like a jackass.

No they won't. They'll join the parade at the end and say they were for it all along. Or they'll say that their principled, nuanced, intelligent, etc. criticism of the administration forced a better approach, which led to the great success. Or they'll say that if we had only used their preferred approach, we would have reached the same conclusion, only with less money or less loss of life. They'll say whatever they want, and the VLWC will join in and support their story, whatever it turns out to be.

They're the most cynical of opportunists, waiting to see what the outcome will be so they can decide what they were for. They are playing politics with American (and other) lives, and they are traitors.

Great piece.

When are the idiot liberal-leftists going to stop digging?
