Several years ago I coined the term "Socio-Economic Cleansing" to describe the phenominon you have been bemoaning here in the last couple of posts; ie. where the wealthy Leftist "Yuppies" swarm in to what they percieve to be a quiet, peaceful, rural, idyllic community.

The only impediment to their rapture seems to be "The Natives" who don't always appreciate being treated as a subserviant underclass and having these "enlightened" interlopers dictate just how we are going to live from now on - under their domination and rule, of course.

Lacking the power they lust for to just round us up and have us "liquidated" as is the norm in other socialist utopias (besides; we have GUNS... a decided inconvenience to the liquidators), they use their money, Lawyers, and political influence to accomplish what they cannot do with thugs and ordnance.

I'm not going to repeat the litany in detail here - we are all familiar as to how it works;

Before the moving van has left the driveway of their $300,000+ home, they are running, often unopposed, for the local Shcool Board. Usually the Socialist "Education" cabal sees to it that they get elected. Then of course the Board of Selectmen, Town Counsel, or whatever else needs to be infiltrated and taken over rolls under the juggernaut. Local apathy in many cases makes this a fairly easy mission for them.

Soon the liberal minority rules the Community, and of course these rustic schools where they dare mention the Name of "God" and teach insensitive and potentially embarrassing "History" will never do; for a proper socialist indoctrination we must have the biggest and the best, and pay a gaggle of Administrators and beauraucrats big bucks to properly administrate. How did this little mudhole ever survive the past 240 years without proper administration, they wonder, as they expand government into every crack and cranny of the community.

Now don't expect these Yuppie Refugees to PAY for all of this "progress"; Don't those ignorant, smelly Fishermen and Farmers know that the land they are squatting on (passed down to them in most instances through several Generations of hard-working Mainers) is prime real-estate, worth zillions of dollars to second, third, or fourth oncoming waves of urban Yuppie Lawyers and Executives? We are just not paying nearly the TAXES we should for such desireable digs - but we'll soon fix that!

Enter Mr. Tax Assessor, stage left; since Maine's Constitution demands that real estate must be taxed not at it's current usage (as they can in NH) but "fair market value", property tax rates are largely determined by market pressures - you guessed it - driven through the roof by rich urban refugee demand.

It never ceases to flummox me how the left constantly rails against the "Greedy rich Capitalists" while their own ACLU / Hollyweed types who are rolling in dough and throwing millions of it around to advance their socialist agendae seem to be completely immune from any such stigmata. Go figure!

So pretty soon all of these "Colorful" locals are getting hit with a tax bill that they cant' pull enough lobsters or grow enough corn to possibly pay - especially if they are on a fixed income, and still eat.

The options include starving to death, or freezing (take your pick), not paying the taxes until the Sheriff comes to your door with the eviction notice (and a gun; hello homelessness), or surrender to the School committee (where 95% or so of our property taxes are going), sell out, and take refuge back inland in some sandpit/swampwater hole where the Yups have yet to take over. Resistance is futile, it seems.

Then the bulldozers move in to clear those ugly trailers and fisherman's shacks out of the way to make room for more condominiums and mansions for those more worthy to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Maine's prime real-estate. Fields that once fed New England now sprout suburban tickky-Tackkies like giant angular "Better-Homes and Gardens" mushrooms. Our Orchards can no longer compete with Chinese unregulated apple products harvested with slave-labor, or pay the taxes with their reduced income... so more prime real estate becomes available.
If more Yuppies wanted to live up in Aroostic County, I have no doubt that we would be getting all of our potatoes from China as well.

Were this systematic clearance - akin to what happened to the poor Scots and Irish at the hands of the British Aristocracy in the early to mid 19th Century - done because our noses were blue, or we spoke French, or were members of a certain Church, we could plead racial, ethnic, or religous persecution, perhaps garnering a modicum of sympathy for our plight.

But our stigma is that we for the most part are Farmers, Fishermen, Mill Workers (without a Mill, thanks to China and it's hired shills in Washington) and the like. Jobs have been systematicly regulated or taxed out of Maine, and it's tough for a blue-collar Worker to earn a decent living these days anywhere in America, especially in the Peoples' Republic of Maine.

Is it my imagination, or are Maine's primary industries now tele-marketing, School Administration, and Welfare Recipiency? Well; they certainly are environmentally correct "clean" industries.

We certainly don't seem to have a shortage of Lawyers, do we? I guess the high divorce rate here keeps them employed well enough, and the Yups have to have someone to help them sue anyone they don't like out of existance. Sort of like the old Chinese Warlords always kept a gaggle of Ninja in their employ in order to ensure that they were not messed with very often.

So what Slobberd-on Miloshovic did to Serbia, the Liberal establishment has done to Maine, NH and probably a good part of Vt as well.
Word has it that the same "cleansing" in going on in the West as the California Socio-Facists escape the social cesspool they created for themselves there and are beginning to repeat the experiment all over America.

You folks in Middle America - hang on; they're closing in on you!

So what can we do to save our homes - our Communities, States, and perhaps even our Nation?

For one thing, sitting around the cracker barrel (or computer monitor) and bitching about it is not going to cut it any more, if it ever did.

I sense that most Freepers are aware of that, and are politically active in supporting Candidates who reflect our values and beleifs, communicating with and educating others to that which the Mainstream Media and our government indoctrination centers (schools) do NOT want us to know, and showing up to FREEP any movement or charade that needs FReeping.

On Election Day, volunteer to Poll-Watch (I did) and participate in anti-fraud operations.
You may recall as how I suggested back in October that someone keep an eye on a certain ethinic "refugee" Community in Lewiston to see where, and how often they voted. Did anyone?

Do you really think that Native (or more than 25 years residency) Mainers elected the dominant Party to the State House and U.S. Congress last November?
They might have - Maine has never been known to be a particularly "Conservative" State... but I rather doubt it.

The Commucrat constituency of Yuppies, Refugees, out-of State College Students and career welfare-recipients is a powerful bloc, under which Maine's surviving working-class minority will feel increasing pressure and restraint for the forseeable future.

California and Maine seem to be Liberalism's last American bastions.

They may have suffered some setbacks as a result of the national Klinton abomination revulsion and our President's positive initiative, but we discount or ignore them at our own dire peril.

And before any of us arrange a party to celebrate our President's recent Tax Reforms, just remember;

"What the Federal Goverment withdraws, the State of Maine will cram back in, with interest aplenty!"... If you get my drift.

As to that Lewiston Debacle; I'm glad that this is January and not August. Maine weather this time of year has a way of inducing participants of any such carnival of kooks to keep their shirts on.
I still plan to avoid the place like the plague for a while, and if we lived there would strongly consider going on a long trip this weekend.

You hit, hit, hit the nail on the head. It is a firestorm here in Lewiston, and the closer Saturday gets, the more nervous I get. I just get the feeling that something bad is coming down the pipe.

I have considered leaving Lewiston and fleeing up north. My company has an outfit in Augusta. But I don't want to be forced out of my home. I have lived here all my life. I know every inch of Lewiston Auburn like the back of my hand. My friends, my family, my everything is here.

The Somalis aren't as peaceful as they appear on TV or in the paper. They are rude, lazy people, and they are the biggest racists you will ever meet. I know this. I live in close proximity to them. The fact that they are Muslim is also cause for alarm. Many Somalis are militant Muslims--you know, like the nineteen Muslims that drove planes of Americans into buildings. A lot of people don't know this about Somalis. They are Muslim to the core--they are not the shiny happy moderates that everyone likes to daydream about. They are hardcore. And they are here.

But what do we do? Our hands are tied. I hate this helpless feeling I have. I have never felt so impotent before in my life. I don't care if I am branded a racist--I am going to start speaking the truth about Somalis, the truth that no one else seems to care about. How radical they are. How much they hate Jews and Americans. People are forgetting the fact that they collect welfare on a massive scale. Nothing they do makes them desired members of the community.

You want to know how Somalis really think? I regularly visit a Somali forum, for the poor little "refugees" here in the States. You should hear some of the things they talk about. THEY HATE US. They hate everything about us. They hate America. They want Islam to acheive world dominance, and they honestly believe that this will happen. At this point, I am not so sure that it won't. Here's a comment made by a Somali that is going to college in the States to be a doctor: "Your blind support for the swines who occupy our land in Palestine. Cut the four billion donation and the military support to Israel and let's see how many seconds the hair backed swines and dogs last." This was in response to a question: why do you hate America?

All I have to say is, it is time for people to wake up. These are the kind of people we have living among us. The wolf is no longer at the door.
