..not good for the a team, so to speak... as in Australia and our friends all around the pacific rim...

It's extraordinary, Bob. And completely unnecessary.

He had everything going for him; conservatives, united in relief at the closeness of the result, Dems dismayed and leaderless, and everyone appreciative of his cool head, in the days following 911. And now, undercutting his own team at every turn, and u-turning on countless commitments to those who put him in the White House. A centrist, when he doesn't have to be. All very reminiscent of his father, of course- which to my mind, makes it even more inexcusable.

When bush does GOOD... I am the first to give him credit... and usually when he misses the target, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt...

Lately that old song by the WHO keeps playing over and over again... "Won't get fooled again... meet the new boss, same as the old boss..."

Maybe we are going to have another "come to Jesus" experience or two before the middle of the road addicts will once again "rouse from their slumber" to meet the challenge.

Scraps of meet to the base screaming on the sidelines... whilst governing as a centrist. Is this what passes for conservatism these days. Bush thinks he doesn't have to listen to us?

His vision of reality seems impaired. I wonder if Cheney ran out of spare "GRAVITAS" for a few weeks. OR if we just don't have the political capitol to invest in fighting battles on so many fronts. Iraq, Korea, and American Domestic Policy.

Where will our promised "tax cuts" go? Probably the same level of priority that abortion on demand has been given... numer uno, RIGHT after getting his old loafers resoled... I guess.

I usually do NOT agree with you on much Byron. On this, what can I say, "dammit, I am afraid we see eye to eye..."

Be well and warm and safe down under.
