I don't have a dog in this fight. But I'm always interested in history. The post-WWI history of the Turks and Greeks is obviously a sensitive one to those whose origins are in that region. Its instructive to the rest of us. Attaturk was the best thing that ever happened in that corner of the world.

Today we have Scot Ritter.... Mark Prentiss?...quick we need a DNA check. Go ahead and deny the Armenian and Greek genocide attempt. Please document something on that next.
Turkey was kicked out of Europe after it's brutal semi-occupation. Say what you want about Turkey's so called secular society...its still 99% muslim. It's the Turk's who are now squeezing every dollar they can out of the US, for the use of it's bases against Iraq.

I have no idea who set fire to Smyrna, and you may well, for all I know, be right that it was the Christians. But I don't think there's much doubt about which side did most of the killing.

Regardless what happened to whom in that time, we still have an evidense of disrespect and opression manifesting itself in today Turkey. That is that they stole the biggest church in the world, and converted it to a mosque. If we say, that was the barbaric Islamic fanatics of the past, what is stopping the Turkish government from returning the church back to the minority Christians? How are they going to be accepted in the EU, and continue to hold stolen churches, and oppress their minorities.

>>Say what you want about Turkey's so called secular society...its still 99% muslim.
So what? Religion has nothing to do with it.

War's a bitch. Civilians aren't safe in any war. Doesn't matter who wages it. Plenty of civilians die in US operations. Not much can be done about that.
Anyway, this article does not speak about secularism, nor genocide. It's an American's account of what happened in a city you dastards like to get unsuspecting folks believing we burned. And you use everything you can to try and make it stick, even religion.

No, we won't say that. We took the city, and then inhabited it. End of story. And you won't get any of it back, as hard as you try to get others, as usual, to do your work for you.

The heart wants what it seeks
Will it always wait, will it never find.
The heart wants a friend
Will it never know, may it never ask.
If she took me, no such luck
She could not replace me.
Even if I begged her to stay
She couldn't stay put.
(Refrain:)
She's got a nice car
She's got a private driver
It really takes off
Alas, she's got no soul.
That's why there's no chance.
(Repeat Refrain)
The heart wants what it seeks
Will it always wait, will it never find.
The heart wants a friend
Will it never know, may it never ask.
If she took me, no such luck
She could not replace me.
Even if I begged her to stay
She couldn't stay put.

And it has stuck well...Religion has everything to do with the war's between the Turks and Christians. And as I said....Prentiss=Ritter...comprendo? Furthermore, Izmir or Smyrna is originally a Greek city. And if the Greeks chose to burn some of it....it was their's to burn (you butchered Constantinople, and turned it into a massive "flea market")....as for your women and children in Smyrna....As you said "Wars a bitch".
We invented the word "barbarian" in your honour. Now go pray to your moon God.

If I were you, I would wonder why Sharon is getting all these money from South Africa to fund his votes/campaigns in Israel. Instead, you are trying to agitate BS among people who don't give a dime about you, with your pathetic comments.
Please go kiss a duck and leave us in peace!
